Abstract: This project is aiming at helping deaf people to listen to music through vibrotactile sensation. In this thesis, music is converted into vibrations through extraction of rhythmic pattern of music. By using this approach people particularly who suffer from deafness are able to be touched by music and enjoy vibrations of music on their skin. This work is mainly based on two remarkable jobs, which have been previously done in this field. One aimed at converting environmental sound to its vibrations to help deaf individuals to be able to conjecture what kinds of actions occurring in the environment surrounded them. This method teaches people to make very likely conjectures to connect the vibration to its associated environmental sound. The second work fulfilled to convert music to its vibration. This work has achieved a great performance in terms of having precise conjectures of subjects for associating music to its vibration. The latter work has focused only on the pop music.
