  1. 1. Reinforced Concrete Structures Subjected to Imposed Deformations: A Study of Cracking due to Shrinkage in Slab Foundations for Residential Houses

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Konstruktionsteknik; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för bygg- och miljöteknologi

    Author : Henrik Johansson; Martin Heinegård; [2020]
    Keywords : Reinforced concrete structures; nonlinear finite element analysis; crack widths; imposed deformations; shrinkage; foundation slabs; fracture mechanics; Atena 2D; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The need for limiting crack widths in reinforced concrete structures is due to durability, tightness towards gaseous and liquid substances, and for aesthetic reasons. Although concrete cracks at relatively low tensile stresses and can not be avoided, strategies for crack control can be adopted to meet the requirements. READ MORE

  2. 2. 2D Aesthetics with a 3D Pipeline : Achieving a 2D Aesthetic with 3D Geometry

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för speldesign

    Author : Morgan Nilsson; Andreas Lundmark; [2017]
    Keywords : Non-Photo Realistic Rendering; NPR; hand-drawn aesthetics; 3D animation; 2D aesthetic; stylized games; stylization.;

    Abstract : This thesis evaluates and tests different methods utilized to produce a 2D aesthetic within a 3D pipeline, as in, converting 3D geometry to an aesthetic that is similar to hand-drawn classic films such as Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs. This thesis explores methods to produce both exterior and interior lines that indicate shape and form of 3D models, the conclusion from the tested methods leaves with the statement that it is unlikely the human factor will be ever entirely replaced by automated solutions, and instead a mixed approach with shader relied solutions and involvement of texturing techniques which provides artistic controls where necessary, is deemed to be the most effective way of preserving the hand-drawn 2D aesthetic within a 3D-pipeline. 4. 4. Parallax Scrolling : To scroll or not to scroll

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för informatik

    Author : Dennis Ku; [2015]
    Keywords : parallax scrolling; vertical scrolling; scrolling; parallax effect; context; web design;

    Abstract : With the introduction of new technologies for the web like HTML5 and CSS3, new possibilities have emerged. An example of such is parallax scrolling which is based on the ‘parallax effect’. The parallax effect is the illusion of depth which is created by moving multiple layers in different speeds. This effect is commonly used in e. READ MORE
