  1. 1. MANGO - Generating 2D-Magnetic Field Maps From Normal-Conducting Magnets Of Experimental Areas

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Ambre Visive; [2023]
    Keywords : Applied Physics; Particle Physics; MANGO; Magnetic Field Maps; Normal-Conducting Magnets; Finite-Element Modelling; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Beam Lines; Experimental Areas; CERN; Tillämpad Fysik; Partikelfysik; MANGO; Magnetfältskartor; Normalkonduktiva Elektromagneter; Finit Elementmodellering; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Partikelstrållinje; Experimentområden; CERN;

    Abstract : This thesis discusses the development of MANGO, a tool created to model normal-conducting magnets which were installed in the 1970s in the experimental areas at CERN, and store their analysis. MANGO formulates an answer to two problems faced by the physicists of the Beam Department when they model a beam line: first, how to produce new magnetic field maps and, second, how to easily access existing ones? It contains a multi-use package that offers an automated process to produce magnetic field maps from finite-element models of magnets. READ MORE

  2. 2. Evaluation of Physics Informed Neural Networks in engineering simple structural analysis problems

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för informationsteknologi

    Author : Georgios Nentidis; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Neural Networks have found many applications for a long time in Machine Learning in different disciplines, and have especially flourished in the last decade because of the ever-increasing processing power especially from GPUs. Because of their ability to operate as universal function approximators and model nonlinear processes, attempts have been made in recent years to be also used for modeling partial differential equation (PDE) solutions. 3. 3. Constructing Subalgebras of K[x] Using the Minimal Polynomial

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Matematik LTH

    Author : Marianne Ljunggren; [2023]
    Keywords : Algebra; Subalgebra; Polynomial Algebra; Minimal Polynomial; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Abstract : In this report we will be working with subalgebras A of finite codimension in K[x]. It is known that such subalgebras can be expressed using a set of linear conditions evaluated at a finite set of points called the spectrum elements of A. READ MORE

  4. 4. Approximating Damping Coefficient of Bolted Joints using the Finite Element Method

    University essay from KTH/Hållfasthetslära

    Author : Abhiroop Chatterjee; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Bolted joints are important due to their energy dissipation property in structures,but the damping mechanism is also highly nonlinear and localized. The goal ofthis thesis is to develop an accurate method for modeling bolted joint dampingin large structures using finite element (FE) software. READ MORE

  5. 5. Minimization of Model-based Tests in Modbat

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Caroline Borg; [2023]
    Keywords : Software testing; Model-based testing; Test minimization; Delta debugging; Modbat; modmin; Mjukvarutestning; Modellbaserad testning; Testminimering; Delta debugging; Modbat; modmin;

    Abstract : Model-based testing (MBT) is a promising testing method with advantages like exhaustive exploration and high maintainability. However, one notable downside is that the generated tests usually contain much unnecessary noise. READ MORE
