  1. 1. The Arctic in Transition : Great Power Competition at the End of the Post-Cold War Order

    University essay from Försvarshögskolan

    Author : Malin Ridström; [2024]
    Keywords : the Arctic; Russia; China; the United States; great power behaviour; offensive realism; defensive realism; power transition theory; grand strategy; qualitative content analysis; Arctic exceptionalism;

    Abstract : This study uses defensive realism, offensive realism and power transition theory (PTT) in order to examine the great powers’ grand strategies in the Arctic region, aiming to recontextualise the security theatre in the Arctic as a reflection of the return of great power politics and the end of Arctic exceptionalism, and to examine the explanatory power of the different strands of realism on the great power behaviour identified in their Arctic strategies. The study is conducted using qualitative content analysis and utilises Jacob Westberg’s theorisation of grand strategies through the categories of context, ends, means and ways as analytical framework, to which the theoretical framework is applied. 2. 2. Let Us Put Our Brains in the Spotlight – Literally!

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Examensarbeten i molekylärbiologi

    Author : Elsa Karjalainen; [2023]
    Keywords : Biology and Life Sciences;

    Abstract : Neurons are the working force in each vertebrate’s nervous system. These small cells have the important task of transferring information in the form of electrical charges called action potentials. Neurons make it possible for us to sense touch, process our environment, and store memory. READ MORE

  3. 3. Gate Drive Design for SiC MOSFET Device Characterization : Investigation into the impact of the gate inductance and resistance on the switching behaviour of SiC Power MOSFETs

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Elochukwu Mbah; [2023]
    Keywords : Silicon Carbide Power MOSFET; Gate Inductance; Gate Resistance; Miller Period; dv dt and di dt transients; Double Pulse Test; Kiselkarbid Power MOSFET; Gateinduktans; Gate Resistance; Millerperioden; dv dt och di dt transienter; Dubbelpulstest.;

    Abstract : Silicon Carbide as a wide-bandgap semiconductor has several physical and electrical advantages over Silicon for high voltage and high frequency applications. SiC as a MOSFET device has a lot of great characteristics like lower on-resistance and low input capacitances. READ MORE

  4. 4. Design and investigation of a pulsating heat pipe for electronic cooling

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för energivetenskaper

    Author : Sulafa Hammad; [2023]
    Keywords : Pulsating heat pipes PHP ; Electronic cooling; two phase flow heat transfer; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The purpose of this study is to design and investigate a pulsating heat pipe device (PHP). A PHP is a two-phase flow heat transfer device which can handle high heat fluxes with passive internal flow. It is made of a continuous loop serpentine, partially filled with a working fluid that can cool systems, such as electronic devices. READ MORE

  5. 5. Navigating through Economic storms - A comparative analysis of stock market responses to recent European recessions

    University essay from Handelshögskolan i Stockholm/Institutionen för finansiell ekonomi

    Author : Agnes Jahn; Amanda Rashid; [2023]
    Keywords : Business cycles; Stock market; Price Dividend Ratio; Recession Variance Ratio; Swedish Stock market;

    Abstract : The study investigates the interplay between stock market behaviour and recessions in the Northern and Western European area, focusing on data from three different recessions in five countries since 1986. First, unadjusted stock prices show some predictive power in anticipating financial crises, while time-aggregated stock prices do not. READ MORE
