  1. 6. A photodegradation study of conjugated polymers for organic solar cells by absorption spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy

    University essay from Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för ingenjörsvetenskap och fysik (from 2013)

    Author : Johansson André; [2021]
    Keywords : OSC; solar cells; active layer; polymer; degradation;

    Abstract : The effect of light exposure in ambient air on thin films made from an electron acceptor polymer poly{[N,N'-bis(2-octyldodecyl)naphthalene-1,4,5,8-bis(dicarboximide)-2,6-diyl]-alt-5,5'-(2,2'-bithiophene)} (N2200), an electron donor polymer Poly[[2,3-bis(3-octyloxyphenyl)-5,8-quinoxalinediyl]-2,5-thiophenediyl] (TQ1) and their blends, has been studied using UV-vis spectroscopy and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM). For solutions of TQ1, N2200 and blends, the linearity of the Beer-Lambert law for absorption spectroscopy has been verified. READ MORE

    Abstract : Semiconductors are used in many electronic applications, for example diodes, solar cells and transistors. Typically, semiconductors are inorganic materials, such as silicon and gallium arsenide, but lately more research and development has been devoted to organic semiconductors, for example semiconducting polymers. 5. 10. Solvents and solvent blends for the polymers TQ1 and N2200.

    University essay from Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för ingenjörs- och kemivetenskaper (from 2013)

    Author : Lisa Lundin; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Abstract The solubility of polymers depends on how well the parameters of the polymers and solvents used resemble each other. The more similar the parameters are, the more likely the polymers are to be dissolved. READ MORE
