  1. 1. U-Pb age constraints on the host rocks of the Barsele Norra Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide deposit, northern Sweden

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och naturresurser

    Author : Maria Sandlund; [2021]
    Keywords : Geochronology; Skellefte district; Barsele; VMS; LA-ICP-MS; SEM;

    Abstract : The Barsele area is located in the "Gold Line", southwest of the volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) Skellefte district which hosts more than 85 known VMS-deposits where some are gold-bearing. The Barsele area consists of the Central, Avan and Skiråsen intrusion hosted gold deposits, the Norra gold-bearing VMS-deposit and the Risberget zone. READ MORE

  2. 2. Resolving temporal links between the Högberget granite and the Wigström tungsten skarn deposit in Bergslagen (Sweden) using trace elements and U-Pb LA-ICPMS on complex zircons

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Anders Plan; [2020]
    Keywords : Bergslagen; Wigström; Högberget; geochronology; geochemistry; U-Pb; REE; trace element; zircon; hydrothermal zircon; LA-ICPMS; SEM; skarn; tungsten; wolfram; scheelite; deposit; ore; critical raw material; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Combined U-Pb and REE trace element LA-ICPMS analyses were performed on zircons, from the scheelite-bearing Wigström skarn, associated micro-granitic dykes and the highly evolved parental Högberget (sensu stricto) granite. Combined systematic of zircon typology and microtextures, trace elements and isotopic chemistry suggest the presence of several diverse zircon types, spanning from early- to late- magmatic stage into a hydrothermal stage. 3. 3. The Neoproterozoic Visingsö Group of southern Sweden : lithology, sequence stratigraphy and provenance of the Middle Formation

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Viktor Ahrenstedt; [2018]
    Keywords : Neoproterozoic; Visingsö Group; sequence stratigraphy; provenance; lithology; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : The depositional setting of the Neoproterozoic Visingsö Group has long been a subject of discussion. This study aims to provide additional insights into the lithological composition and provenance of the sediments and to provide a sequence stratigraphic framework in order to define the depositional setting. 4. 4. Single-Grain Zircon U-Pb Dating and Magnetic Susceptibility of Polish Loess to Determine Late Quaternary Dust Provenance and Paleoclimate

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Alexandra Engström Johansson; [2018]
    Keywords : dust provenance; Polish loess; paleoclimate; single-grain zircon U-Pb dating; magnetic susceptibility; härkomstområden för atmosfäriskt stoft; polsk lössjord; paleoklimat; U-Pb datering av zirkoner; magnetisk susceptibilitet;

    Abstract : Windblown mineral dust has accumulated into thick loess layers across the European continent. Loess deposits are valuable paleoclimatic archives as they record climate change on centennial- to glacialinterglacial timescales. READ MORE

  5. 5. P-T evolution of paragneisses and amphibolites from Romeleåsen, Scania, southernmost Sweden

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Author : Jan Ulmius; [2013]
