6. Self-supervised pre-training of an attention-based model for 3D medical image segmentation
University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)Abstract : Accurate segmentation of anatomical structures is crucial for radiation therapy in cancer treatment. Deep learning methods have been demonstrated effective for segmentation of 3D medical images, establishing the current standard. However, they require large amounts of labelled data and suffer from reduced performance on domain shift. READ MORE

7. Neuromorphic Medical Image Analysis at the Edge : On-Edge training with the Akida Brainchip
University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)Abstract : Computed Tomography (CT) scans play a crucial role in medical imaging, allowing neuroscientists to identify intracranial pathologies such as haemorrhages and malignant tumours in the brain. This thesis explores the potential of deep learning models as an aid in intracranial pathology detection through medical imaging. READ MORE

8. Dielectric Characterization of Bone Using Ultra Wide Band Microwave Transmission Probe
University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för informationsteknologiAbstract : The body has the capability of reabsorbing and generating new bone throughout life. Bone remains healthy as long it maintains the equal amount of old and new bones. Bone loss is occurred when the old bone absorbed is more and new bone created is less. Osteoporosis is a very common bone disease among men and women in their later years. READ MORE

9. Development and evaluation of an inter-subject image registration method for body composition analysis for three slice CT images
University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för informationsteknologiAbstract : Over 30 000 liver, abdomen, and thigh slices have been acquired by computed tomography for the SCAPIS and IGT study. To utilise the full potential of the large cohort and enable statistical pixel-wise body composition analysis and visualisation of associations with other biomarkers, a point-to-point correspondence between the scans is needed. 10. Micro-CT based finite element models for mechanical strength assessment of glass ceramic scaffolds obtained through the robocasting technique
University essay from KTH/HållfasthetsläraAbstract : In this thesis, micro computed tomography (μ−CT) scans of a bio-glass scaffold produced by the robocasting technique was used to create finite element method (FEM) models with the purpose of determining its mechanical strength. Prior to this, a Matlab script was used to create several simplified geometries of the scaffold in an effort to determine the importance of scaffold design parameters (such as the fiber compenetration between two adjacent printing planes) on the strength of the scaffold.
