    Abstract : This paper studies the relationship between contraceptive adoption by women and three relevant predictors: women’s education, empowerment and religious affiliation. I employ recent information on women’s characteristics and the institutional environment for six Latin American countries, in the years 2013-2015, to perform a cross-section analysis with binary and multinomial logistic regressions, having contraception use and contraception effectiveness as outcome variables.
