  1. 11. Fe-Mo-oxide of spinel structure for methanol oxidation

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)

    Author : Maria Thulin; [2016]
    Keywords : iron molybdate catalyst; methanol oxidation; Fe-Mo-oxide; spinel structure; formaldehyde catalyst; chemical engineering; kemiteknik; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : The aim of this master thesis was to investigate a Fe-Mo-oxide catalyst of spinel structure for methanol oxidation to produce formaldehyde and determine if the spinel could be an alternative to the commercial Formox catalyst used today. This included firstly, synthesising the catalyst to get more knowledge of the formation of the structure and secondly, determine the activity, selectivity to formaldehyde and stability of the catalyst. 2. 12. Functionalization of Upsalite® with TiO2 for UV-blocking applications

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Nanoteknologi och funktionella material

    Author : Celina Notfors; [2016]
    Keywords : TiO2; titanium dioxide; Upsalite; UV-filter; sol-gel; UV-Vis;

    Abstract : Inorganic UV-filters in use today often occur as nanoparticles and have a photocatalytic effect, which can be a problem since they can cause negative health effects. This is why Upsalite®, a mesoporous magnesium carbonate recently has been investigated as a UV-filter. READ MORE

  3. 13. Analysis of Alternative Fuels in Automotive Powertrains

    University essay from Institutionen för systemteknik

    Author : Andreas Gunnarsson; [2009]
    Keywords : Well-to-wheel analysis; alternative fuel; gasoline; diesel; methanol; ethanol; natural gas; biomethane; synthesis gas; hydrogen; biogas; biodiesel; FT-diesel; DME;

    Abstract : The awareness of the effect emissions have on the environment and climate has risen in the last decades. This has caused strict regulations of greenhouse gas emissions. Greenhouse gases cause global warming which may have devastating environmental effects. Most of the fuels commercially available today are fossil fuels. READ MORE
