  1. 1. Near threshold operation of 16-bit adders in 65nm CMOStechnology

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Elektroniska komponenter; Linköpings universitet/Tekniska högskolan

    Author : Ravi Maddula; [2014]
    Keywords : RCA; MCCA; KSA; Linearity; Average Power; PDP; Operating Frequency; Optimisation;

    Abstract : The main objective of the thesis is to implement different architectures of 16-bit adders such as; Ripple CarryAdder (RCA), Manchester Carry Chain Adder (MCCA) and Kogge Stone Adder (KSA), in 65nm CMOS technology and to study their performance in terms of power, operating frequency and speed at near threshold operating regions. The performance of these adders are evaluated and compared with each other and a final conclusion is made as to which adder structure is more suitable for implementation in a 65nmtechnology for low power applications. 2. 2. Power Estimation of High Speed Bit-Parallel Adders

    University essay from Institutionen för systemteknik

    Author : Anders Åslund; [2004]
    Keywords : Electronics; Power simulations; Pipelining; Adder; Ripple carry; Conditional sum; Brent-Kung; Kogge-Stone; Parallel prefix; VHDL; DSP; Elektronik;

    Abstract : Fast addition is essential in many DSP algorithms. Various structures have been introduced to speed up the time critical carry propagation. For high throughput applications, however, it may be necessary to introduce pipelining. READ MORE

  3. 3. Implementation of Pipelined Bit-parallel Adders

    University essay from Institutionen för systemteknik

    Author : Lan Wei; [2003]
    Keywords : Electronics; Adder; Ripple carry adder; Carry look-ahead adder; Carry select adder; Carry save adder; Pipelining; Power consumption; Elektronik;

    Abstract : Bit-parallel addition can be performed using a number of adder structures with different area and latency. However, the power consumption of different adder structures is not well studied. Further, the effect of pipelining adders to increase the throughput is not well studied. READ MORE
