  1. 1. MetaStackVis: Visually-Assisted Performance Evaluation of Metamodels in Stacking Ensemble Learning

    University essay from Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för datavetenskap och medieteknik (DM)

    Author : Ilya Ploshchik; [2023]
    Keywords : Visualization; interaction; metamodels; validation metrics; predicted probabilities; stacking; stacked generalization; ensemble learning; machine learning;

    Abstract : Stacking, also known as stacked generalization, is a method of ensemble learning where multiple base models are trained on the same dataset, and their predictions are used as input for one or more metamodels in an extra layer. This technique can lead to improved performance compared to single layer ensembles, but often requires a time-consuming trial-and-error process. READ MORE

  2. 2. The OpenXO. 3D Printed Modular Exoskeleton Segment

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Rymdteknik

    Author : Árni Þór Þorgerirsson; [2023]
    Keywords : Exoskeleton; Open-Source; Fused Filament Fabrication FFF ; Cycloidal Drive; OpenXO; precision fabrication;

    Abstract : Exoskeletons are wearable devices that enhance or supplement the user’s natural abilities. They have been demonstrated to be efective in alleviating pain, reducing work related injuries, improving working conditions, and can play a pivotal role in improving recovery times and recovery outcomes. 3. 3. Detecting Chromatography Unit Degradation : Comparison of single- and multi-point techniques implemented in system control and monitoring software

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Signaler och system

    Author : Max Markensten; [2023]
    Keywords : PCA; SOP-MPT; Fibro; chromatography; affinity A;

    Abstract : Chromatography units, used in the production of pharmaceuticals, degrade with use and need to be changed or repackaged. This study investigates the effectiveness of two statistical methods, principal component analysis and simple and one-point multiparameter technique, for determining degradation in the Fibro chromatography unit. 4. 4. Improved Modelling For Oxidation Of Zircalloy Fuel Cladding Tubes In PWRs

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Rafaël Bellachia; [2023]
    Keywords : Nuclear Engineering; Corrosion; Zircalloy; PWR; Nuclear Fuel; Kärnteknik; Korrosion; Zircalloy; PWR; Kärnbränsle;

    Abstract : The fuel cladding is an essential component in the defence-in-depth strategy for nuclear safety. Its integrity and durability are therefore critical for maintaining acceptable safety conditions. However, the integrity of the cladding can be compromised during normal operation due to corrosion and hydriding. READ MORE

  5. 5. Aesthetic injustice

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Filosofiska institutionen

    Author : Jessica Rodarte; [2023]
    Keywords : Aesthetic injustice; potential aesthetic agents; testimonial aesthetic injustice; hermeneutical aesthetic injustice; aesthetic dysfunction.;

    Abstract :   I argue that talking about aesthetic injustice implies reflection about some failures on the exercise of aesthetic judgment due to mechanisms of oppression, which have a negative impact on the development of potential aesthetic agents.  I claim that mechanisms of oppression like aesthetic identity prejudice, oppression or lack of recognition of sensitivities, and aesthetic dysfunctionality in sites of enunciation continue undermining the degree of validation of potential aesthetic agents - who mostly belong to historical oppressed groups like women, black people, indigenous, native Americans, among others.
