  1. 16. Reinforcement Layout in Concrete Pile Foundations : A study based on non - linear finite element analysis

    University essay from KTH/Betongbyggnad

    Author : Mohammad Mustafa Angar; [2020]
    Keywords : Pile cap; Nonlinear finite element analysis; ATENA 3D; Reinforcement layout; Strut and tie method; Pålfundament; icke-linjära finita elementmodeller; strut and tie-metoden;

    Abstract : The main topic of this thesis concerns the behavior of concrete pile cap supported by four piles with two varying positions of longitudinal reinforcements. The positions include top of piles and bottom of the pile cap. For this purpose, non-linear finite element models of a pile cap are created using software ATENA 3D. READ MORE

  2. 17. Thermomechanical stress analysis of the main insulation system of traction electrical machines

    University essay from Blekinge Tekniska Högskola/Institutionen för maskinteknik

    Author : Dahman Ismail; Alexis Andrei; [2020]
    Keywords : finite element analysis; thermo-mechanical stress; heavy-duty vehicle; electrical machine; insulation system; coupled-temperature displacement analysis; finita element analys; termomekaniska spänningar; lastbilar; elektriska motorer; isolering; termisk kopplingsförbindelse;

    Abstract : More efficiency heavy-duty vehicles are developed with higher range, updated electronic and mechanical parts. The fuel efficiency and pollution of carbon dioxide need to be lower to achieve new EU regulations. The global population increases with an increased number of heavy-duty vehicles. This, in turn, increases the emission. READ MORE

  3. 18. The two-Higgs-doublet modelas an explanation for the muon (g−2) discrepancy

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Author : Zenny Wettersten; [2020]
    Keywords : Beyond Standard Model; BSM; CP violation; Higgs Physics; two Higgs doublet model; 2hdm; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : The general Z2-violating two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM) is analysed as an explanation for the discrepancy between Standard Model predictions and experimental measurements of the muon anomalous magnetic dipole moment ∆aµ, with the condition that it does not provide an electron electric dipole moment |eEDM| larger than experimental bounds. Several point studies of individual 2HDM parameter space points are made to show large-scale cancellation among Barr-Zee 2-loop contributions to |eEDM| at large Yukawa lepton sector magnitudes, as well as an approximately linear growth of total aµ contribution when those magnitudes are rescaled by a common factor, reaching the same order as ∆aµ. 4. 19. Early Gear Failure Detection in Fatigue Testing of Driveline Components

    University essay from KTH/Maskinkonstruktion (Inst.)

    Author : Govindraj Sannellappanavar; [2020]
    Keywords : Autoregressive modelling; Condition monitoring; Gear fault detection; Vibration analysis; Autoreggressiv modell; Feldetektering i växel; Tillståndsövervakning; Vibrationsanalys;

    Abstract : Early failure detection has been an integral part of condition monitoring of critical systems, such as wind turbines and helicopter rotor drivetrains. An unexplored application of early failure detection is fatigue testing of driveline components. READ MORE

  5. 20. Material Properties of Adhesive Joint

    University essay from KTH/Hållfasthetslära

    Author : Shuyue Wang; [2020]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The development of the commercial 5G network with high-frequency mmWave requires tighter base station grid, which increases the demand for smaller and more unobtrusive products. One way to connect materials of different properties and keeping the product size small is to use adhesive joints instead of screw joints. READ MORE
