  1. 26. Current ripple simulation of the electric system of an electric bus

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Industriell elektroteknik och automation

    Author : Christian Lugnberg; David Wenander; [2017]
    Keywords : Electromobility; electric propulsion system; current ripple; hybrid vehicles; simulation model; power electronics; LTspice; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : With effect of global warming and climate change the electrification of vehicles enables a more sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional vehicles as it reduces toxic emissions and overall energy consumption. Different extents of electrification is today used. Hybrid and electric vehicles are two examples. READ MORE

  2. 27. Quantifying the Shadow Effect between Offshore Wind Farms with Idealized Mesoscale Models and Observed Wind Data

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : David Werner; [2016]
    Keywords : Shadow effect; offshore wakes; atmospheric stability; analog ensemble; wake forecasting; idealized mesoscale modeling; Weather Research Forecast WRF model; downscaling; North Sea; Princes Amalia; Egmond aan Zee;

    Abstract : Two post processing methods for quantifying the shadow effect of the offshore wind farm Princes Amalia (PA) onto Egmond aan Zee (OWEZ) wind farm are analyzed and benchmarked. The first method is the author’s proposed shadow effect determination method (SEDM), which quantifies an offshore wind farm’s shadow effect based on mesoscale WRF (Weather Research Forecast) idealized modeling and the observed frequency of the analyzed site’s wind conditions. 3. 28. A Mixed Frequency Steady-State Bayesian Vector Autoregression: Forecasting the Macroeconomy

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Statistiska institutionen

    Author : Måns Unosson; [2016]
    Keywords : Bayesian VAR; Gibbs Sampling; State-space; Mixed Frequency Data; Steady-state; Macroeconometrics; Forecasting;

    Abstract : This thesis suggests a Bayesian vector autoregressive (VAR) model which allows for explicit parametrization of the unconditional mean for data measured at different frequencies, without the need to aggregate data to the lowest common frequency. Using a normal prior for the steady-state and a normal-inverse Wishart prior for the dynamics and error covariance, a Gibbs sampler is proposed to sample the posterior distribution. READ MORE

  4. 29. Patterns in live performance data

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för datavetenskap

    Author : Simon Svensson; [2016]
    Keywords : Android; Linear regression; Gaussian mixture models; Clustering; Performance data; Sony Mobile; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : This thesis explores methods to find features that affect the start time of mobile apps. To help app developers improve performance over patch cycles, we implement an alarm pipeline in Apache Spark and tested it. This implementation is able to detect notable changes in the start time distribution and alert the developer. READ MORE

  5. 30. Cloud Overlap Assumption and Cloud Cover Validation for HARMONIE-AROME

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapslära

    Author : Freja Söderberg; [2016]
    Keywords : Cloud overlap assumption; HARMONIE-AROME; total cloud cover; SYNOP observations; MSG-data; Molnöverlappsantagande; HARMONIE-AROME; total molnmängd; SYNOP-observationer; MSG-data;

    Abstract : One major challenge in representing the state of the atmosphere through weather forecast models, is the parametrization of sub-grid clouds. At every vertical column of grid cells within a weather forecast model, the fractional cloud cover is assumed to overlap according to a prescribed Cloud Overlap Assumption (COA). READ MORE
