  1. 1. Enabling high-fidelity measurements of turbulent boundary layer flow over wing sections in the MTL wind tunnel.

    University essay from KTH/Mekanik

    Author : Fermin Mallor; [2019]
    Keywords : Fluid mechanics; aerodynamics; turbulence; RANS; wind-tunnel experiments; insert design; Strömningsmekanik; aerodynamik; turbulens; RANS; vindtunnel experiment; inlaga designen;

    Abstract : A reinforced fiber-glass model of a NACA 4412 wing profile is designed and set-up in the Minimum Turbulence Level (MTL) wind tunnel facility at KTH. The model has 65 pressure taps orifices, and the set-up includes two mounting panels designed to allow for particle image velocimetry (PIV) and hot wire anemometry (HWA) measurements of the boundary layer (to be performed in a future campaign). 2. 2. Proposed Design and Feasibility Study of a Hybrid-Electric Propulsion System for a Ten Passenger Aircraft

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Author : Fredrik Ollas; Gestur Ernir Viðarsson; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This study aims to propose a hybridized version of a propulsion system for a 10-passenger aircraft and compare it to a conventional (reference) aircraft which uses a fossil fuelled turbofan for propulsion. The hybridized powertrain includes a fossil fuelled gas turbine, which is only used for producing electricity, coupled in a series configuration with a battery storage, that provide power to two electrically ducted fans. 3. 3. A Mass Conserving Wind Model Evaluation With Finite Element

    University essay from Institutionen för fysik

    Author : Daniel Eriksson; [2013]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This work describes a method of approximating a wind field for an urban environment for the purpose of dispersion modelling. Instead of using the classic Navier Stokes equation, a mass conserving wind model is evaluated. READ MORE
