Reaching Consensus Using Raft

Abstract: This thesis project implements and evaluates log replication using the Raft consensus algorithm. Raft presents a new and easier to understand consensus protocol for log replication in a distributed system. This thesis aims to evaluate the correctness and robustness of Raft by implementing a scalable system that is easy to maintain and test for further development. This thesis gives an in-depth description of Raft as well as a detailed explanation of the implemented system together with an evaluation of the system performance with focus on correctness.
