Keywords: Eskilstuna;

Abstract: Sundbyholm is a scenic area northeast of Eskilstuna city. The place is characterized by vast fields, one of Sweden's largest trotting tracks, a castle with a well-kept castle park and a large nature reserve. Sundbyholm is seen as an important node for the expansion of attractive housing. Based on a municipality-wide development analysis (Eskilstuna Municipality), Sundbyholm is estimated to grow with 500-600 new homes by 2030. In the long term, the area is expected to be transformed into a small town close to Lake Mälaren with developed services, close connections to Eskilstuna city and good regional accessibility. A piece of the puzzle in the development of sundbyholm is the Sundbyholms Generationsträdgård project.The purpose of the project is to use architectural means to create good conditions for interaction between children and the elderly and to create conditions for a well-functioning rural area. Today, the nearest preschool / health center / care home is about a mile from central Sundbyholm.
