Abstract: The thesis is a technoeconomic assessment for the implantation of Photovoltaic (PV) systems of public buildings in Oskarshamn municipality. The thesis will also cover Electric vehicle (EV) charging and the integration between a PV system and an EV smart charging. Integration of EV charging adds the possibility to reduce the overproduction of the PV system by adding an additional load, which can charge according to the estimated weather forecast. In addition, estimated increase in PV system and EV usage combined with mandatory EV charginginfrastructure at certain buildings from the National board of housing (Boverket) has made PV-EV evaluation highly relevant. The thesis will review the approximate financial gains the implementation of PV and EV chargers could yield. The financial requirement has been set to break-even, while improving the everyday life of citizens of Oskarshamn. Initial phasing and evaluation were conducted to narrow down the number of buildings for PV evaluation, resulting in Rödsleskolan and Kristinebergsskolan for further evaluation. Hourly PV loads has been simulated, and load profiles for buildings and fractional presence of EV load due to stochastic variation has been generated based on estimations. The EV charging has beenconducted from the PV simulation results to estimate increase in system self-consumption. The thesis results conclude a high energy mismatch even when PV energy output is far from annual net zero. Both buildings do pay back the investment, but it occurs in a span of over 20 years. Implementation of EVs has a slight loss in investment for lower amount of EV’s.
