  2. 7. Corrosion initiation induced by sodium sulfate and sodium chloride particles on Cu and the golden alloy Cu5Al5Zn at simulated atmospheric conditions

    University essay from KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Author : Weijie Zhao; [2017]
    Keywords : atmospheric corrosion; sodium sulfate; sodium chloride; Cu5Al5Zn; Cu metal; mixed salt pre-deposition; laboratory exposure; LOM; SEM EDS; ATR-FTIR; cathodic reduction;

    Abstract : Effects of sodium sulfate (Na2SO4) particle deposition on the atmospheric corrosion of copper (Cu) metal and a Cu-based alloy (Cu5Al5Zn) used in architectural applications were investigated at laboratory conditions compared with effects induced by sodium chloride (NaCl) and to some extent ammonium sulfate (NH4)2SO4 induced corrosion. Pre-deposited surfaces were exposed to repeated wet/dry conditions in a climatic chamber and the formation of corrosion products were assessed using light optical microscopy (LOM), scanning electron microscopy with elemental analysis (SEM/EDS), Fourier transform infrared techniques (FTIR microscopy) and cathodic reduction (CR). 3. 8. Removal and recovery of phosphorus from side-stream hydrolysis

    University essay from KTH/Mark- och vattenteknik

    Author : Anu Paul Naduvath; [2017]
    Keywords : Phosphorus removal; Chemical precipitation; Magnesium chloride; Calcium chloride; Struvite; Calcium phosphate; Parameters; Recovery;

    Abstract : The report formulates the experiments conducted to remove phosphorus from the return sludge wastewater subjected to side-stream hydrolysis. The experiments are conducted using the wastewater from the outlet of side-stream hydrolysis and is tested in a laboratory at the Duvbackens wastewater treatment plant in Gävle. READ MORE

  4. 9. Growth and phosphorus uptake of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) in an alkaline soil as affected by mineral nitrogen forms and inoculation with phosphate-solubilizing bacteria and mycorrhizal fungi

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Biosystems and Technology (from 130101)

    Author : Kristina Weimers; [2017]
    Keywords : alkaline soil; ammonium chloride; ammonium nitrate; ammonium sulphate; AMF; Bacillus megaterium; Solanum tuberosum L; P deficiency; potassium nitrate; Rhizophagus irregularis;

    Abstract : In soils with relatively high pH (pH > 7), potatoes (Solanum tuberosum L.) and other phosphorus (P) demanding crops might suffer from P deficiency despite P fertilization and significant reserves of P in the soil. Also, a high risk for P deficiency for potatoes may be expected when the soil is cold and the root system undeveloped. READ MORE

  5. 10. Livscykelanalys av behandlingsprocesser för flygaska från avfallsförbränning : jämförelse av Ash2Salt-processen med befintliga metoder

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Energy and Technology

    Author : Kristin Johansson; [2017]
    Keywords : LCA; saltutvinning; miljöpåverkan; klimatpåverkan; resursförbrukning; toxicitet;

    Abstract : EasyMining Sweden AB, a subsidiary to Ragn-Sells AB, has developed a new process for treatment of fly ash from municipal solid waste incineration called Ash2Salt, which enables recycling of salts; sodium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium chloride and ammonium sulphate. To compare this new process with some of today’s fly ash treatment processes available for Swedish and European fly ash a life cycle assessment (LCA) was performed. READ MORE
