  1. 21. Shape depiction using Local Light Alignment : Evaluating the shape enhancement capabilities of the Local Light Alignment technique at multiple scales

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Edvard Ahlsén; [2023]
    Keywords : Shape depiction; Non-photorealistic rendering; Shading; Multiple scales; Formskildring; ickerealistisk rendering; skuggning; skalrymdsmetoder;

    Abstract : Local Light Alignment is a new shading based technique in the field of shape depiction, a field which concerns itself with techniques to represent and enhance the three-dimensional (3D) shape of objects in two-dimensional (2D) visual media. The main idea of Local Light Alignment is to locally adjust the incoming direction of light to create contrast in a way that enhances the perception of shape and surface detail. READ MORE

  2. 22. Analyzing How Blended Emotions are Expressed using Machine Learning Methods

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Disen Ling; [2023]
    Keywords : Blended emotion; Supervised learning; Model generalization capability; Ablation study; Blandade känslor; Övervakad inlärning; Modellens generaliseringsförmåga; Ablationsstudie;

    Abstract : Blended emotion is a classification of emotional experiences that involve the combination of multiple emotions. Research on the expression of blended emotions allows researchers to understand how different emotions interact and coexist in an individual’s emotional experience. READ MORE

  3. 23. Problematiken med att prissätta skyddsvärda träd : en kritisk granskning av två monetära värderingsverktyg för träd

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Urban and Rural Development

    Author : Olivia Bjurström; Emil Seipel; [2023]
    Keywords : urbana träd; biologisk mångfald; särskilt skyddsvärda träd; naturskyddsvärden; monetär värdering; monetärt värde; instrumentellt värde; strukturellt värde; kvantifieringskritik;

    Abstract : I takt med att skyddsvärda träd i städer minskar har flera värderingsverktyg skapats för att skydda dessa genom att ge träd ett ekonomiskt värde. Många av dessa har fått kritik för att inte spegla trädens fulla värde. READ MORE

  4. 24. The Adoption of Technologies Defined as General Purpose Technologies and Inventions of Methods of Inventing : An Explorative Study of the Adoption of the Immersive Technologies Extended Reality and Digital Twins

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Author : Märta Ernfors; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This study set out to investigate the adequacy of the prevailing theoretical models regarding technology adoption when it comes to the adoption of revolutionary technologies characterised as general purpose technologies (GPTs) and inventions of methods of inventing (IMIs). With the ever-increasing speed of technology development, we will likely experience more frequent implementations and adoption of GPTs and IMIs. READ MORE

  5. 25. MANGO - Generating 2D-Magnetic Field Maps From Normal-Conducting Magnets Of Experimental Areas

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Ambre Visive; [2023]
    Keywords : Applied Physics; Particle Physics; MANGO; Magnetic Field Maps; Normal-Conducting Magnets; Finite-Element Modelling; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Beam Lines; Experimental Areas; CERN; Tillämpad Fysik; Partikelfysik; MANGO; Magnetfältskartor; Normalkonduktiva Elektromagneter; Finit Elementmodellering; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Partikelstrållinje; Experimentområden; CERN;

    Abstract : This thesis discusses the development of MANGO, a tool created to model normal-conducting magnets which were installed in the 1970s in the experimental areas at CERN, and store their analysis. MANGO formulates an answer to two problems faced by the physicists of the Beam Department when they model a beam line: first, how to produce new magnetic field maps and, second, how to easily access existing ones? It contains a multi-use package that offers an automated process to produce magnetic field maps from finite-element models of magnets. READ MORE
