    Abstract : In this thesis, I study the impact of underwriting syndicate structure on the bookbuilding pricing mechanism based on a sample of 1,013 IPOs in France, Germany, Italy, and the UK between 1995 and 2010. More specifically, I examine whether the numbers of bookrunners and co-managers in underwriting syndicates are positively related to both the capability of bookbuilding to produce information about investor demand and the bargaining power of issuers to negotiate on higher filing price revisions.
