  1. 21. Validation of one-dimensional loss models for axial gas turbines

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för energivetenskaper

    Author : Kim Hirsch; Ramin Moghadam; [2016]
    Keywords : gas turbine; loss model; turbine; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Denna masteruppsats är ett sammarbete mellan Siemens Industrial Turbomachi- nery (SIT) och Lunds Tekniska Högskola (LTH). Uppsatsen berör validering av ett nytt in-house verktyg på SIT som heter ”Mean Line Tool” (MLT), framför allt sekundärförlustmodellerna som verktyget använder. READ MORE

  2. 22. Multi-energy well kinetic modeling of novel PAH formation pathways in flames

    University essay from KTH/Kraft- och värmeteknologi

    Author : Nicola Giramondi; [2016]
    Keywords : Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons; soot; laminar flame; flame calculation; quantum chemical calculation; non-equilibrium kinetic modeling.;

    Abstract : Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) are harmful by-products formed during combustion of hydrocarbons under locally fuel-rich conditions followed by incomplete combustion. PAHs act as precursors during the formation of soot. PAHs and soot are harmful for human health and legislation limits the emission of unburned hydrocarbons and soot. READ MORE

  3. 23. Last Measure Standing - Gross Profitability's Role in the Demise of the Accrual Anomaly

    University essay from Handelshögskolan i Stockholm/Institutionen för redovisning och finansiering

    Author : Martin Kessler; Michael Fernandez Tarlo; [2015]
    Keywords : Accrual Anomaly; Gross Profits; Future Excess Stock Returns; Adaptive Market Efficiency; Accounting Subjectivity;

    Abstract : We confirm the previously well-evidenced negative relation between the accrual part of earnings and future excess stock returns for the period 1990-1999, and show that this relation has become statistically insignificant for the period 2000-2010. As a contrasting measure underlying only limited accounting subjectivity, we show gross profitability to be negatively related to future excess stock returns under lax controls, and find this relation to become slightly stronger in the period 2000-2010. 4. 24. 1D Turbine Design Tool Validation and Loss Model Comparison: Performance Prediction of a 1-stage Turbine at Different Pressure Ratios

    University essay from KTH/Kraft- och värmeteknologi

    Author : Jonas Persson; [2015]
    Keywords : gas turbine; 1D design tool; validation; loss models; performance prediction; pressure ratio; purge flow;

    Abstract : This work concerns the validation of two 1D Turbine Design Tools, AXIAL by Concepts NREC and TML by GKN Aerospace, and is purely computational. By using the KTH Test Turbine as a reference frame, these two software programs were set up to simulate its performance, and the results consequently validated against existing experimental data from the turbine. 5. 25. Investigation of the Effects of Introducing Hydrodynamic Parameters into a Kinetic Biomass Gasification Model for a Bubbling Fluidized Bed

    University essay from Mälardalens högskola/Akademin för ekonomi, samhälle och teknik

    Author : Daniel Andersson; Martin Karlsson; [2014]
    Keywords : Gasification; Gasifier; Biomass; Bubbling fluidized beds; Reaction kinetics;

    Abstract : Biomass is an alternative to fossil fuels that has a lower impact on the environment and is thus of great interest to replace fossil fuels for energy production. There are several technologies to convert the stored energy in biomass into useful energy and this thesis focuses on the process of gasification. READ MORE
