  1. 16. Three-dimensional modelling of the Källfallsgruvan iron oxide deposit, Riddarhyttan ore field, Bergslagen, Sweden: Integrating existing and new data to aid understanding of structural controls and mineral exploration

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och naturresurser

    Author : Edna Spahic; [2021]
    Keywords : Three-dimensional modelling; Mineral exploration; Bergslagen; Riddarhyttan ore field; Källfallsgruvan iron-oxide deposit;

    Abstract : The Bergslagen ore province, located in the Fennoscandian shield in the south-central part of Sweden hosts several metallic mineral deposits, one of them being the Källfallsgruvan iron-oxide deposit in the Riddarhyttan ore field, situated in a high-strain shear belt denoted as the West Bergslagen Boundary Zone (WBBZ).  An accurate 3D geological model of the Källfallsgruvan iron-oxide deposit has been generated to aid understanding of the ore body geometries and calculating volume and tonnage. 2. 17. Method development for a tribological diffusion couple of rock and cemented carbide

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad materialvetenskap

    Author : Alma Fjällström; [2021]
    Keywords : Diffusion couple; tribology; cemented carbide; rock; granite; sandstone; Silicon; rock drilling;

    Abstract : In a diffusion couple, the intimacy of the contact between the two parts is of high importance for the results. In a tribological contact, matter can transfer from one part to another and a very intimate contact is formed. READ MORE

  3. 18. Unsupervised Feature Extraction from CT Images for Clustering of Geological Drill Core Samples

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Miquel Sven Larsson Corominas; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Computed tomography (CT) scanned drill cores provide a high resolution view of the internal structure and composition of the rock, which is interesting for many analysis purposes. Although, this data is very high dimensional and difficult to analyze in an automatic way. READ MORE

  4. 19. Characterization of Fe-rich skarns and fluorapatite-bearing magnetite occurrences at the Zinkgruvan Zn-Pb-Ag and Cu deposit, Bergslagen, Sweden

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och naturresurser

    Author : Filip Ivarsson; [2019]
    Keywords : Zinkgruvan; Bergslagen; Magnetite; REE; Broken Hill-type; Skarn; SEDEX;

    Abstract : Zinkgruvan is a stratiform Zn-Pb-Ag and Cu sulphide deposit hosted by Paleoproterozoic strata in southern Bergslagen, Sweden. The deposit underwent medium-high grade regional metamorphism during the Svecokarelian orogeny, including partial melting of the host succession. READ MORE

  5. 20. Mineralogy and petrology of a drill core section from Borg, SW Norrköping – fracture fillings and tentative mineral reactions

    University essay from Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för geologiska vetenskaper

    Author : Ting-Fung Chong; [2019]
    Keywords : Swedish Transport Administration; mineral reactions; diabas; dolerite; mafic rock; xrd; xrf; Trafikverket; Norrköping; Ostlänken; Bergslagen;

    Abstract : During drilling at Borg, ca. 5 km southwest of central Norrköping, an unidentified fine-grained grey rock was encountered in contact with dark red granitic gneiss at 35m depth. The fine-grained grey rock occurs above the red granitic gneiss. READ MORE
