  1. 21. Dialogues with the unwell body : Rethinking the notion of wellbeing in HCI from feminist and somaesthetic perspectives

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Eirini Kaklopoulou; [2022]
    Keywords : wellbeing; biodata; first-person perspective methods; soma design; digital wellbeing; välbefinnande; biodata; first-person perspective metoder; soma design; digitalt välbefinnande;

    Abstract : With the emergence of ubiquitous computing and biosensing technologies, there is a growing interest to explore wellbeing within design research. This paper unpacks the notion of wellbeing from somaesthetic and feminist perspectives. READ MORE

  2. 22. Back analysis of rock mass properties in the regional fault zone under Lake Mälaren

    University essay from KTH/Jord- och bergmekanik

    Author : Jiaqi Liu; [2022]
    Keywords : Rock mass property; back analysis; tunnel deformation; optimization algorithm; numerical analysis; Bergmassans egenskaper; bakåtanalys; tunnleldeformation; optimeringingsalgoritm; numeriska analyser.;

    Abstract : The properties of the surrounding rock mass in underground projects have significant impacts on the design and construction. However, it is quite challenging to evaluate rock mass properties due to the great uncertainties of the geological conditions. READ MORE

  3. 23. Optimization of support in rock pillars between two parallel tunnels

    University essay from KTH/Jord- och bergmekanik

    Author : Alexander Kote; Sohaib Ishaq; [2022]
    Keywords : tunnel; rock pillar support; rock pillar stability; rock mass; stresses; arching effect; Nyckelord: tunnel; bergförstärkning; bergpelare; bergmassa; spänningar; valveffekt;

    Abstract : When two parallel tunnels are excavated under high to moderate horizontal in-situ stresses combined with minor deformations in the pillar between the tunnels, the in-situ stresses can be redistributed over the tunnels in form of two compressive arches and are transferred from the roof to the abutments of the two tunnels. At additional deformations in the pillar, a new redistribution of the stresses can occur creating one compressive arch over both of the tunnels. READ MORE

  4. 24. Investigation of Methods to Improve PZT Sol-Gel Deposition Process for Energy Harvesting Applications

    University essay from KTH/Hälsoinformatik och logistik

    Author : Mikael Granberg; [2022]
    Keywords : PZT; sol-gel; self-polarization; seed layer; titanium oxidation; PZT; sol-gel; självpolarisering; seedlager; titanoxidering;

    Abstract : The purpose of this work was to investigate ways to modify Silex sol-gel deposition of PZT (PbZrxTi(1-x)O3, Lead Zirconate Titanate) in order to improve its properties for energy harvesting applications. A number of methods to improve the figure of merit for energy harvesting (FOM= e312/ε), cause self-polarization, increase lifetime, reduce cost, increase throughput or simplify processing were tested. 5. 25. Stress dependent flow behavior in sublevel caving mines

    University essay from KTH/Jord- och bergmekanik

    Author : Linde Mattsson; [2022]
    Keywords : level caving; Material Flow; Mining; Discrete element modeling.;

    Abstract : Sublevel caving is an underground mass mining method that utilizes the gravity-induced material flow for ore extraction. The granular flowbehavior is one of the main phenomena describing this mining method’s efficiency; therefore, a good understanding of the flow behavior is essential. READ MORE
