  1. 1. Estimating the fuel ion dilution in fusion plasmas using neutron emission spectrometry

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomi

    Author : Fredrik Olsson; [2014]
    Keywords : Fusion; Fuel dilution; ITER; JET; ILW; CW;

    Abstract : Fusion power has the potential to produce clean and safe energy that can contribute significantly to the worlds energy system. The road to this promising energy resource has been long, but with one of the biggest projects in the scientific area that is now on going, a fusion project called ITER, the end of the road is ahead of us. 2. 2. Upgrading the Control and Monitoring system for the TOFOR neutron time-of-flight spectrometer at JET

    University essay from Institutionen för fysik och astronomi

    Author : Johan Valldor-Blücher; [2013]
    Keywords : control and monitoring system; upgraded control and monitoring system; C Mu system; C M system; TOFOR; spectrometer; time-of-flight; JET; fusion; plasma diagnostics; energy spectrum; monitoring time delays; pulse reconstruction; timing measurements;

    Abstract : This report describes the development and testing of the upgraded Control and Monitoring (C&Mu) system for the TOFOR neutron spectrometer. TOFOR is currently performing plasma diagnostics for the JET experimental fusion reactor. The purpose of the C&Mu system is to enable monitoring of the amplitude dependent time delays of TOFOR. 3. 3. Calculations of neutron energy spectra from fast ion reactions in tokamak fusion plasmas

    University essay from Tillämpad kärnfysik

    Author : Jacob Eriksson; [2010]
    Keywords : fusion; plasma diagnostics; neutron spectroscopy; fast ions; line of sight;

    Abstract : A MATLAB code for calculating neutron energy spectra from JET discharges was developed. The code uses the fuel ion distribution calculated by the computer code SELFO to generate the spectrum through a Monte-Carlo simulation. The calculated spectra were then compared against experimental results from the neutron spectrometer TOFOR. READ MORE
