  1. 1. Short wavelength UV–LED photoinitiated radical polymerization of acrylate–based coating systems—A comparison with conventional UV curing.

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Strukturkemi

    Author : Olof Torfgård; [2021]
    Keywords : UV; LED; UVC; UVB; UVA; paint; acrylate; curing; Sherwin–Williams; ATR-FTIR; spectroradiometer; photoinitiator; the mercury arc lamp;

    Abstract : The present work was performed at Sherwin–Williams Sweden group AB with the objective of comparing short-wavelength light emitting diodes (UVB/UVC) with the conventional mercury arc lamp as a curing method of acrylate-based, UV-paint undergoing free-radical polymerization when exposed to UV-radiation. Due to environmental and health risks, mercury-doped radiation sources will be phased out in the near future, according to the United Nations Minamata convention, hence new alternatives are needed. 2. 2. Sn-Pb-mixtures for Perovskite Solar Cells

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Fanny Amanda Karolina Baumann; [2020]
    Keywords : Perovskite Solar Cells; PSC; Sn; Tin; Lead; Pb; FAPI; Renewable Energy; Compositional Engineering; Interfaces; Morphology; PL; Photoluminescence; Thin film stability; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Perovskite research has quickly gone from non-existent to one of the biggest reseach areas in Photo- voltaics. There are still many questions to be solved regarding the stability, environmental impact, reproducible large area devices, efficiency and module fabrication cost of Perovskite Solar Cells, PSCs, before commercial up-scaling. 3. 3. Development of Novel (Cu,Fe)3O4 Coatings for AISI 441 Solid Oxide Cell Interconnects : Coating optimization and long-term study

    University essay from KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Author : Line Larby; [2020]
    Keywords : SOC; SOFC; interconnect; Cr evaporation; Cu-Fe coatings; spinel; SOFC; SOC; interkonnektor; bipolär platta; Cr-förångning; Cu-Fe-beläggningar; spinell;

    Abstract : As current environmental challenges are gaining increased attention, development of clean energy solutions is becoming one of the essential strategies to keep within the boundaries of established environmental policies. Solid oxide cell (SOC) technology can provide clean energy conversion and storage when hydrogen is the energy carrier. READ MORE

  4. 4. Analysis and characterization of environmental friendly trivalent chromium passivation of aluminum alloys

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologi

    Author : Emma Västerlund; Ronja Flink; [2016]
    Keywords : aluminium alloys; trivalent chromium passivation; SurTec 650V; goniometry; XPS; AES; SEM; TEM; corrosion;

    Abstract : As of 21st September 2017, industrial use of hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) will, due to its environmental toxicity and carcinogenicity, be restricted by REACH regulations. Saab Aeronautics is therefore shifting anticorrosion surface treatment of aluminum alloys from hexavalent chromium conversion to trivalent chromium (Cr(III)) passivation. READ MORE

  5. 5. Characterisation of the influence of curing temperature on the properties of 2K waterborne topcoat

    University essay from KTH/Kemi

    Author : Anna Andersson; [2012]
    Keywords : Coatings; temperature; waterborne; curing; performance;

    Abstract : Replacing solventborne coating with waterborne can reduce emission of VOC from paint shops, and decrease the amount of CO2 released from after-burners. The chemistry of 2K WB urethane coatings includes complex kinetics, with a selectivity which is highly dependent on application and curing conditions. READ MORE
