  1. 11. Prediction of flue gas properties using artificial intelligence : Application of supervised machine learning by utilization of Near-Infrared Spectroscopy on solid biofuels

    University essay from Mälardalens universitet/Akademin för ekonomi, samhälle och teknik

    Author : Bashe Abdirahman Hussein; Emran Samimi; [2022]
    Keywords : Artificial Intelligence; Machine learning; Near-Infrared spectroscopy; Solid biofuels; Fuel element; Flue gas composition; CCS;

    Abstract : This degree project studies implementation and comparison of different AI models to predict (1) solid biofuel elements including carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen as well as moisture content, ash content, and higher heating value (HHV) of the fuel and (2) flue gas compositions such as concentration of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen, nitrogen oxides, and water content using near-infrared spectroscopy and chemometric approaches. The study executes these predictions by simulating the operation of a combined heat and power plant (CHP) that is equipped with carbon capture and storage (CCS). READ MORE

  2. 12. Estimation of dissolved organic carbon from inland waters using remote sensing data and machine learning

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Author : Lasse Harkort; [2022]
    Keywords : dissolved organic carbon; machine learning; remote sensing; inland waters; water quality; open source data; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : This thesis presents the first attempt to estimate Dissolved Organic Carbon (DOC) in inland waters over a large-scale area using satellite data and machine learning (ML) methods. Four ML approaches, namely Random Forest Regression (RFR), Support Vector Regression (SVR), Gaussian Process Regression (GPR), and a Multilayer Backpropagation Neural Network (MBPNN) were tested to retrieve DOC using a filtered version of the recently published open source AquaSat dataset with more than 16 thousand samples across the continental US matched with satellite data from Landsat 5, 7 and 8 missions. 3. 13. A Case Study of Automated Testing : Understanding the Impacts within an Organisational Environment

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Informationssystem

    Author : Aryan Adrian Moezzi; Irina Siskina; [2022]
    Keywords : Automated Testing; Continuous Integration; Quality Assurance;

    Abstract : When designing a software, it was commonplace to use specialised techniques to ensure quality of the final product. Continuous Integration (CI) provides developers a strategy by allowing for teams to continuously add to their project daily without conflicting with prior work. READ MORE

  4. 14. Characterization of Center-of-Mass and Rebinning in Positron Emission Tomography with Motion

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Author : Linder Hugo; [2021]
    Keywords : positron emission tomography; center of mass; motion correction;

    Abstract : Medical molecular imaging with positron emission tomography (PET) is sensitive to patient motion since PET scans last several minutes. Despite advancements in PET, such as improved photon-pair time-of-flight (TOF) difference resolution, motion deformations limit image resolution and quantification. READ MORE
