  1. 1. Tribological characterization of a ball bearing subjected to an electric field : Electric drivetrain tribology

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskap och matematik

    Author : Muhammad Umar Farooq; [2023]
    Keywords : Ball bearing; electric drivetrain; tribology; electric field; characterization; bearing currents; discharge;

    Abstract : Electric machines are widely used in for instance the automotive industry in electric vehicles and in wind turbines. The electrical machines have mechanical bearings as an integral part used to transmit power and load. In addition, the main function includes reducing friction between interacting surfaces. 2. 2. Multiple-Emitter Super-resolution Imaging using the Alternating Descent Conditional Gradient Method

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Author : Dolev Illouz; [2023]
    Keywords : super-resolution; alternating descent conditional gradient method; ADCG; multiple-emitter localization; nanoscale imaging; single molecule tracking; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : This thesis examines the state-of-the-art 2D super-resolution technique alternating descent conditional gradient (ADCG) method's ability to accurately localize fluorophores in diffraction-limited single molecule images (SMI) and analyze the impact of pre-processing and post-processing modules on ADCG's fluorophore localization. A synthetic dataset obtained from the 2013 Grand Challenge localization microscopy and a temporally linked dataset obtained from an unpublished set of Optical DNA mapping experiments performed by Jonathan Jeffet at the NanoBioPhotonix Lab at Tel-Aviv University were initially segmented to extract their noise parameters. 3. 3. Rapid expansion of roof mounted PV systems in commercial facilities - How can they be insured?

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Riskhantering (CI); Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Riskhantering och Samhällssäkerhet

    Author : Erik Lindén; [2023]
    Keywords : PV system fires; PV component failures; PV regulations; future PV regulations; PV risk assessment; PV risk evaluation; PV insurance price; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : PV system components that are exposed to unmanageable strain can be overheated, which subsequently results in a fire ignition. Common failure factors are poor component quality, mechanical exposure due to natural phenomena and poor craftmanship. The underlying problem is that PV regulations are lacking in quality or are non-existent. READ MORE

  4. 4. Streamlining the flow of material through buffer simulation and multi-objective optimization, with regards to sustainability : A case study at Volvo Construction Equipment

    University essay from Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för maskinteknik (MT)

    Author : Daniel Nord; Alex Wernholm; [2023]
    Keywords : Multi-Objective optimization; Buffer Allocation Problem; Simulation modeling; FACTS Analyzer; Buffer allocation; Optimization; Buffers; Lean; Manufacturing; Streamlining; Sustainability; Flow of material; Design of Experiments; Gemba walk; Data visualization;

    Abstract : This thesis will provide knowledge on how to maintain a well developed flow of material while at the same time finding an optimal level of capacities for buffers. Simultaneously, aspects that allow for positive sustainability practices will be regarded.  Buffers have a considerable impact on the performance of a production system. READ MORE

  5. 5. The Effect of Interactive Selection on Personalized Drug Prediction Using Interactomes : Examination of Parameters Impacting Drug Treatment Rankings from Network Models for Covid-19 Patients

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Author : Cornelia Torell; [2023]
