  1. 11. Primordial Gravitational Waves and ultra-light Dark Matter in a complex singlet extended Standard Model

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Teoretisk partikelfysik - Geonomgår omorganisation

    Author : Sara Wildenor; [2021]
    Keywords : theoretical physics; gravitational waves; dark matter; complex singlet extended standard model; LISA; BBO; DECIGO; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this thesis, the consequences of extending the internal symmetries of the standard model with a complex singlet scalar field, are investigated in terms of dark matter phenomenology and the possibility of primordial gravitational wave detection utilizing space based laser interferometry. The scalar potential of the model is constructed with a Z2 symmetry, which allows for the retainment of a linear and a quadratic coupling parameter, as well as a stable dark matter candidate, and an additional non-zero vacuum expectation value for the real component of the scalar field. 2. 12. The Upsurge of Ethno-nationalism and Ethiopia's Fragile Democracy

    University essay from Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för samhällsstudier (SS)

    Author : Tsegaye Bulgan; [2021]
    Keywords : Ethiopia; ethno-nationalism; democracy; ethnicity; democratization;

    Abstract : By exploring the upsurge of the new wave of ethno-nationalism and its effect on institutions of democracy in Ethiopia, this study attempts to contribute to the study of fragile democracy in highly divided states. Methodologically, it is qualitative research where key informant interviews and literature review were employed to collect the needed data. READ MORE

  3. 13. Is the Phillips Curve Valid for ASEAN? : A Time-Varying Approach

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Nationalekonomi; Linköpings universitet/Filosofiska fakulteten

    Author : Simon Wilfer; Philip Wikström; [2021]
    Keywords : ASEAN; Phillips Curve; Inflation Dynamics; ARMA-GARCH; Time-Varying; Financial Integration; Spillover; Monetary Policy;

    Abstract : The primary purpose of this thesis was to investigate if the modern Phillips Curve is valid for ASEAN five (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Philippines) countries using a time-varying approach in the form of an ARMA-GARCH model. The method enables us to investigate how the inflation volatility reacts to economic shocks and if its history can predict the conditional variance of inflation. READ MORE

  4. 14. Quantitative Easing and Bubble Formation in Real-Estate : A study of the relationship between novel monetary policies and speculative bubbles in the Swedish real-estate market

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Nationalekonomi; Linköpings universitet/Filosofiska fakulteten

    Author : Axel Öhlund; Anna Domnina; [2021]
    Keywords : Large-scale asset purchasing program; Quantitative easing; Vector Autoregression; Riksbanken; Housing Bubble; Speculative Bubbles; Unconventional Monetary Policy;

    Abstract : This thesis aims to study how much of price appreciations on the Swedish real-estate market in recent times have been fundamentally warranted, as well as if the unconventional monetary policies implemented by the Swedish central bank have had any interaction with these price escalations. The methodology employed to research this is divided into two parts. READ MORE

  5. 15. Monetary Policy Implications Through a VEC Model

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Nationalekonomi

    Author : Ludwig Schmidt; [2020]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This paper examines the effects of adjustments in the key policy rate, included as the interbank rate, on the Swedish household sector debt from the second quarter of 2000 to the third quarter of 2019. The effect is examined through a Vector Error-Correction (VEC) model to determine if it provides results that are aligned with the given theory. READ MORE
