  1. 11. Fabrication and Characterization of Nano-Confined Pd Catalysts for CO Oxidation

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Alfred Larsson; [2019]
    Keywords : Catalysis Palladium Nano Nanopore CO oxidation; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : During this thesis nanoporous alumina has been used as a template for the synthesis of nano-confined palladium structures. The nanoporous templates have been synthesized by anodization of aluminum and characterized using atomic force microscopy (AFM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), resulting in good statistics of the pore diameter and interpore distance of these nanoporous structures. 2. 12. CO and CO2 Detection for Catalysis Diagnosis by Means of PLIF

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Förbränningsfysik

    Author : Sebastian Pfaff; [2017]
    Keywords : plif; laser diagnostics; catalysis; carbon monoxide; carbon dioxide; palladium; planar laser induced fluorescence; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In order to fully understand the underlying processes of catalysis, it is vital to combine measurements of the catalyst surface, where the reaction occurs, with measurements of the gas concentration close to the catalyst. We have developed a convenient setup, which uses a single laser system to visualise the gas surrounding a working catalyst in situ at realistic operating conditions. READ MORE

  3. 13. Application of sorption-enhanced catalysis to ethanol reforming

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för kemivetenskap (CHE)

    Author : Jacky Ho; [2016]
    Keywords : Catalysis; adsorption; Li4SiO4; CaO; Ethanol reforming;

    Abstract : Lithium orthosilicate (Li4SiO4) is known to be a high temperature CO2 capture material. This work was focused on comparing Li4SiO4 to the extensively studied CaO as an adsorbent in sorption enhanced catalysis. Thermogravimetric analysis was used to study the effects of sorption temperature and compaction on Li4SiO4 using 15vol% CO2 in N2. READ MORE

  4. 14. Experimental Tools for Studies of Heterogeneous Catalysis - Development and Case Studies

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Author : Jonas Evertsson; [2013]
    Keywords : X-ray Diffraction; PLIF; Planar Laser Induced Fluorescence; activity measurement; reactor; catalyst; catalytic processes; XRD; Mass spectrometry; Heterogeneous catalysis; Chemistry; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : In this project four reactors for studies of heterogeneous catalysis have been developed. They were tested using case studies, especially concerning methane oxidation over palladium. The test measurements showed that the reactors work or would work very well after slight modifications. READ MORE
