  1. 11. Feeding Behaviour in Loggerhead Sea Turtles (Caretta caretta) : Collection of Movement Data Representative of Feeding Events

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologi

    Author : Marie Ulrich; [2019]
    Keywords : Clams; Crabs; Data logger; Calcium; Loggerhead; VeDBA; feeding behaviour;

    Abstract : With the different threats sea turtles are currently facing, such as habitat reduction and pollution, increase of fishing and harvesting of aquatic resources by Humans, or invasive species, it is important to learn as much as possible about their biology and behaviour in order to ensure the success of conservation programs. In this study, loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta) feeding behaviour duration as well as energy expenditure approximation during a feeding event were tested and compared using two different types of food: green shore crabs (Carcinus maenas) or Japanese clam (Ruditapes phillipinarum) or Venus clams (Chamelea gallina). 2. 12. Difference in Heat Generation Comparing “Grinding” and “Cutting” Single Crown Preparation Technique

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för odontologi

    Author : David Garis; Christoffer Johansson; [2018]
    Keywords : Tooth preparation; Heat generation; prosthodontics;

    Abstract : The main purpose of this study was to examine the difference in intrapulpal temperature (IPT) comparing a “grinding” and a “cutting” technique during single crown preparation. The difference in preparation time between the two techniques was also examined. READ MORE

  3. 13. Evaluation of SCPT-surveys as method for accessing dynamic modulus

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och naturresurser

    Author : Joakim Granskär; [2018]
    Keywords : SCPT; Dynamic modulus; Seismic surveys;

    Abstract : The purpose of this master thesis is to evaluate the results from the completed SCPT (Seismic Cone Penetration Test) surveys with respect to the methods ability to estimate dynamic young´s modulus. This has been done by comparing the result from SCPT to other seismic methods and dynamic parameters converted from “static” geotechnical surveys. READ MORE

  4. 14. Assessing blockchain technology for Transport Data Logger

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik

    Author : Björn Johansson; [2018]
    Keywords : blockchain; transport data logger; hyperledger; hyperledger fabric; byzantine fault tolerance; bft; supply chain; transport chain; permissioned; permissionless; documental truth; historical truth; immutability; security; log data; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : A proof of concept permissioned blockchain system that holds data from the Transport Data Logger, TDL, was developed. Transport chain actors who hand off TDL-equipped goods between one another use the TDL app to upload a digital handoff containing their identities and log data from and signed by the TDL to a Hyperledger Fabric blockchain network. 5. 15. Prediction of early age and time dependent deformations in a massive concrete structure

    University essay from KTH/Betongbyggnad

    Author : Ali Aghili; Haris Ribac; [2018]
    Keywords : Early age concrete; hydration of cement; Storfinnforsen; ConTeSt; crack risk; temperature development; strain; mass concrete structures; measurement plan; Ung betong; hydratation av cement; Storfinnforsens kraftverk; ConTeSt; sprickrisk; temperatur; töjning; massiva konstruktioner; mätningsplanering;

    Abstract : The heat development that occurs due to the hydration of cement is important to consider during casting of massive concrete structures. By using computer programs that are based on finite element methods (FEM), simulations can be performed on the heat- and strength development. READ MORE
