  1. 1. Wireless electrocardiogram based on ultra-wideband communications

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Signaler och System

    Author : Maria Toll; [2019]
    Keywords : UWB; ECG; EKG; ultra-wideband; electrocardiogram; ultra wideband; radio communication; Decawave; DW1000; IoT; internet of things; Android; IEEE 802.15.4-2011;

    Abstract : The goal for this master thesis is to develop a prototype that uses ultra-wideband (UWB) communications to wirelessly transfer electrocardiogram (ECG) data from an ECG measurement unit to an Android device (smartphone or similar) which is used to process and display the ECG signals. The prototype should consist of two hardware nodes; (1) Node one having a ECG measurement unit (an AD8232 single lead heart rate monitor), an UWB communication module (a Decawave DWM1000 module) and a microcontroller (an Arduino DUE); and (2) Node two having an Android device (an Android smartphone), an UWB communication module (a Decawave DWM1000 module) and a microcontroller (an Arduino DUE). 2. 2. Implementation of a Low-Cost Analog-to-Digital Converter for Audio Applications Using an FPGA

    University essay from Elektroniksystem; Tekniska högskolan

    Author : Johan Hellman; [2013]
    Keywords : ADC; Sigma-Delta; FPGA; LVDS;

    Abstract : The aim of this master’s thesis is to implement an ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter) foraudio applications using external components together with an FPGA (Field-ProgrammableGate Array). The focus is on making the ADC low-cost and it is desirable to achieve 16-bitresolution at 48 KS/s. READ MORE

  3. 3. Ethernet in Steer-by-wire Applications

    University essay from KTH/Kommunikationssystem, CoS

    Author : Muhammad Ibrahim; [2011]
    Keywords : CANbus; CAN Ethernet converter; Ethernet; real-time; steer-by-wire;

    Abstract : A Controller Area Network (CAN) is a multi-master serial data communication bus designed primarily for the automotive industry. It is reliable and cost-effective and features error detection and fault confinement capabilities. CAN has been widely used in other applications, such as onboard trains, ships, construction vehicles, and aircraft. READ MORE

  4. 4. Design of a low power analog to digital converter in a 130nmCMOS technology

    University essay from Elektroniksystem

    Author : Venkataraman Radhakrishnan; [2011]
    Keywords : pipeline ADC; fully differential; CLS ADC;

    Abstract : Communication technology has become indispensable in a modernsociety. Its importance is growing day by day. One of the main reasonsbehind this growth is the advancement in the analog and mixed signalcircuit design.Analog to digital converter (ADC) is an essential part in a modernreceiver system. READ MORE

  5. 5. Modelling of Power Dissipation in CMOS DACs

    University essay from Institutionen för systemteknik

    Author : Sofie Jörgensen; [2002]
    Keywords : Electronics; DAC; power consumption; power dissipation; telecommunications; Elektronik;

    Abstract : In this master thesis work, the power dissipation in a current-steering digital- to-analog converter, DAC, has been studied. The digital as well as the analog power dissipation have been modelled in MATLAB and it is shown that the MATLAB models agrees well with simulation results from the circuit simulator (Spectre).
