  1. 1. Interdisciplinary Learning with Technology at Makerzone

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Author : Mandar Joshi; [2023]
    Keywords : Interdisciplinary learning; Makerzone; Makerspaces; STEM; Technology in Education; Ämnesövergripande lärande; Makerzone; Makerspaces; STEM; Teknik i utbildning;

    Abstract : This thesis explores the interdisciplinary approach to learning at Makerzone, a makerspace in Sollentuna, Sweden, and its implications for both students and teachers. Through a combination of methods: observations, interviews, document analysis, and surveys, this project looks into the recognition, benefits, challenges, and support for interdisciplinary work in both makerspaces such as Makerzone and traditional school environments. 2. 2. A City By No-One

    University essay from KTH/Arkitektur

    Author : Oscar Hultén; [2023]
    Keywords : urban environment interactivity algorithm;

    Abstract : This project is an exploration of methods for generating virtual urban environments, framed in an interactive first-person perspective allowing the user to navigate the architectural design space by walking through a city as it is being generated. The project is developed on a foundation of three primary concepts: 1) A spatial interpretation of parameter sets which are positioned in virtual space, 2) Distance-based interpolation of these parameter sets as a method to govern how the urban environments are generated at different points in space,3) The transformation and merging of basic square grids embedded in positioned parameter sets resulting in a composite grid which functions as the spatial framework of the urban environment. 3. 3. Enforced Kumbaya

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Statsvetenskapliga institutionen

    Author : Zakarias Dahlberg; [2022]
    Keywords : United Nations; peacekeeping; local; peace agreements; panel data regressions; Law and Political Science;

    Abstract : This paper looks at whether an implementation of a UN operation in a civil conflict effects the signing of local peace agreements. It is limited to the Africa and Middle East regions. The theory applied, and tested, is the Liberal Peace Theory. To test the question a new dataset is constructed by merging disparate datasets and data into one. READ MORE

  4. 4. Back to the Roots : Re-Connecting Humanity and the Natural World by Merging Interactive Technology and Plants

    University essay from Malmö universitet/Institutionen för konst, kultur och kommunikation (K3)

    Author : Sander Aalbers; [2022]
    Keywords : Interaction Design; Plants; Interactive Technology; More than Human; Posthumanism; Design Tool; Design for Care; Design for Noticing; Design for Cohabitation; Plant Blindness;

    Abstract : This thesis project explores combining interactive technology and the natural world, through a more-than-human design approach. This project aims to step away from an industry-driven design by valuing plants as equal in the design process. Throughout this report, an overview of the relevant theory and examples are elaborated on. READ MORE

  5. 5. Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) and Bayesian Inference for Gravitational Waves

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Astronomi - Genomgår omorganisation

    Author : Christine Andersson; [2021]
    Keywords : Gravitational Waves; LISA; LISA mission; Bayesian Inference; Markov Chain Monte Carlo; MCMC; Bayes’ Theorem; stochastic sampling; Metropolis Hastings; histograms; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : The Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) is a space borne gravitational wave detec- tor set to launch in 2034, with the objective of detecting and studying the Gravitational Waves (GWs) of our universe. So far, ground-based detectors such as the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO) have been successful in detecting GWs, but the limitations of ground based detectors is what makes LISA so special.
