Renewal of the waterpipe system at Norrköping

Abstract: The work with renewal of the water pipe system in Norrköpings municipality has during the last couple years been intensified due to disturbances in the pipe network. My task was to connect disturbances with their geographic position in a database and use the database to establish a priority list for measures. This paper will only examine the water pipe system and the disturbances that are depending on reports of leak in the pipes. The already existing database that was supposed to be the input to my work wasn’t adequate enough. Because of this I wasn’t able to complete the priority list. Instead I made a list witch include the pipes that had more then one reported disturbances. The list also includes the cause of the disturbances. On the other hand the rapport gives proposal on measure so they in the future could make priority lists. One of those proposals is to let a person with great knowledge about water pipe systems fill in information in the database. Suggestions for renewal of the water pipe system are to decide what key parameters to use. Then you must legible and document these parameters. Key parameters can for examples be safe delivery of water and location of risk pipes. The easiest way to do this is to investigate the material of the pipes. It’s also important to set status on water and sewer areas and investigate were the consequences pipes are. These data can be used to find out were the risks pipes are. It’s also important to investigate the possibility to let someone work with economic analysis.
