Abstract: Background: With the development of population aging, the occurrence of frailty amongolder people is increasing, resulting in high consuming of medical resources and services anddecreased quality of life among older people.Aim: The aim of this study was to describe the status of frailty and quality of life amongnursing home residents in Li Shui, and to explore the association between frailty and qualityof life.Methods: Data were collected by using the 7-item FRAIL-Nursing Home (NH) Scale, Lifesatisfaction questionnaire (LSQ) and a sociodemographic characteristics questionnaire. T-testwas used to conduct the association between frailty and quality of life.Results: A total of 463 valid questionnaires were collected in this study, with older peopleage 63 to 101 years, with an average age of 83.01±7.77 years. The frailty rate was 35.20%,and the mean score of the total Life satisfaction questionnaire was 65.71±10.73. The total Lifesatisfaction questionnaire and all factors except quality of family relation and quality of closefriend relationship were negatively related to frailty.Conclusions: The prevalence of frailty among nursing home residents was high, and earlyidentification of frailty in nursing home residents is essential to prevent its development, andto improve their quality of life.Keywords: Frailty, Nursing home, Quality of life, Older people
