Abstract: Parkinson disease and Epilepsy are two amongst several other diseaseswhich possess the potential to affect the ability of individuals tofunction normally and effectively. As such, there has always been theneed for the development of ways in which these diseases could beeffectively managed. In the IT world, apps are being developed dailyand customized to suit the various needs of individuals. This researchwork attempts to incorporate the needs of Parkinson and Epilepticpatients in the design process of an app that would help mitigate theimpact of the diseases upon the patients and thus improve theirquality of life. Faced with so many competitions, app designers have come to realizethat it is not only functionality of the design that matters but thedesign as well. Designing a new app has never been this difficult, especially regarding the color, layout and other subtleties which mustbe taken into consideration. Therefore, designers must learn to knowwhat motivates users to use his or her app before other apps thoughthey seem to have similar functions. Moreover, this research workseeks to provide design specifications for the application tocustomize itself to fit each user’s needs while creating a good userexperience as users differ in their degree of impairment and it ishard to find a good design for all of them The overall result of this research is aimed to improve the design ofan interface that aids people who suffer from intellectual impairmentsand to keep the longevity of the design to facilitate the Epilepticand Parkinson patients in terms of app usability.
