1. A Quantum Chemical Investigation of Chemical Vapour Deposition of Fe using Ferrocene and Plasma Electrons
University essay from Linköpings universitet/KemiAbstract : Thin films provide a remarkable asset, as depositing a thin surface layer can completely alter a material’s characteristics and provide new, inexpensive, and valuable properties. In 2020, a new Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD) approach was developed at Linköping University, using plasma electrons as reducing agents for the deposition of metallic thin films. READ MORE

2. Chromia-Alumina Thin Films from Alkoxide Precursors : From Precursor Synthesis to Deposition and Characterisation
University essay from Uppsala universitet/Oorganisk kemiAbstract : A hetero-bimetallic alkoxide CrAl3(OiPr)12 was synthesised through metathesis of achromium(III)chloride THF complex (CrCl3 . 3 THF) and 3 KAl(OiPr)4.It was used as a single sourceprecursor to make oxide powders and films with 1:3 chromium/aluminium compositionthrough sol-gel synthesis. 3. BCP Lithography Defined Arrays of InAs NWs Grown Using MOVPE with Au Seeds
University essay from Lunds universitet/Lunds Tekniska Högskola; Lunds universitet/Fasta tillståndets fysikAbstract : In this report we outline a detailed process flow for a quick and inexpensive implementation of large dense arrays of InAs nanowires (NWs) grown in the reactive ion etching/etched (RIE) pores of a SiO2/SiNx mask on top of an InAs/Si(111) substrate. The self-assembled (hexagonally close-packed) pattern of poly(methyl-methacrylate) (PMMA) cylinders in a poly(styrene) (PS) matrix adopted by a linear diblock poly(styrene-block-methyl-methacrylate) P(S-b-MMA) block-copolymer (BCP) was transferred to the dielectric stack (consisting of a ≈10 nm plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposition/deposited (PECVD) SiNX layer topped by a thin atomic layer deposition/deposited (ALD) SiO2 film) using a two-step RIE procedure. 4. Toward predictive maintenance in surface treatment processes : A DMAIC case study at Seco Tools
University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för ekonomi, teknik, konst och samhälleAbstract : Surface treatments are often used in the manufacturing industry to change the surface of a product, including its related properties and functions. The occurrence of degradation and corrosion in surface treatment processes can lead to critical breakdowns over time. READ MORE

5. Modeling of carbon plasma discharges in high-power impulse magnetron sputtering
University essay from Linköpings universitet/Plasma och ytbeläggningsfysikAbstract : Diamond like carbon (DLC) is a metastable state of amorphous carbon that has very important and wide-ranging thin film applications. DLC has a strong resemblance to pure diamond and exhibits many traits of real diamond, like mechanical hardness and chemical inertness, but with a drastically lower deposition cost. READ MORE
