  1. 1. Simulated molecular adder circuits on a surface of DNA : Studying the scalability of surface chemical reaction network digital logic circuits

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Jakob Arvidsson; [2023]
    Keywords : Surface chemical reaction networks; Molecular computing; DNA computing; Circuit simulation; Adders; Ytbundna kemiska reaktionsnätverk; Molekylär beräkning; DNA-beräkning; Kretssimulering; Additionskretsar;

    Abstract : The behavior of the Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) molecule can be exploited to perform useful computation. It can also be ”programmed” using the language of Chemical Reaction Networks (CRNs). One specialized CRN construct is the Surface Chemical Reaction Network (SCRN). READ MORE

  2. 2. Multiple-Emitter Super-resolution Imaging using the Alternating Descent Conditional Gradient Method

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Author : Dolev Illouz; [2023]
    Keywords : super-resolution; alternating descent conditional gradient method; ADCG; multiple-emitter localization; nanoscale imaging; single molecule tracking; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : This thesis examines the state-of-the-art 2D super-resolution technique alternating descent conditional gradient (ADCG) method's ability to accurately localize fluorophores in diffraction-limited single molecule images (SMI) and analyze the impact of pre-processing and post-processing modules on ADCG's fluorophore localization. A synthetic dataset obtained from the 2013 Grand Challenge localization microscopy and a temporally linked dataset obtained from an unpublished set of Optical DNA mapping experiments performed by Jonathan Jeffet at the NanoBioPhotonix Lab at Tel-Aviv University were initially segmented to extract their noise parameters. 3. 3. Analysis of somatic mutations in papillomavirus positive tumours from younger and older oropharyngeal cancer patients

    University essay from Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för biovetenskap

    Author : Andreas Ährlund-Richter; [2016]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : ABSTRACT Background: Human Papilloma Virus positive (HPV+) Oropharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC), dominated by tonsillar cancer (TSCC) and base of tongue cancer (BOTSCC) has low mutation-frequency and better survival for younger than older patients.Aim: To examine if HPV+ TSCC and BOTSCC have distinct gene-mutation profiles, for 50 often-mutated genes in cancer, in younger compared to older patients and to test and compare different variant callers to get a deeper understanding of the data. 4. 4. Accurate and fast taxonomic profiling of microbial communities

    University essay from KTH/Kommunikationsteori

    Author : Damon Shahrivar; [2015]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : With the advent of next generation sequencing there has been an explosion of the size of data that needs to be processed, where next generation sequencing yields basepairs of DNA in the millions. The rate at which the size of data increases supersedes Moores law therefore there is a huge demand for methods to nd meaningful labels of sequenced data. READ MORE
