11. Complementarity of high energy and high intensity experiments for dark photon benchmarks
University essay from Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenAbstract : Physical phenomena that are unexplained by the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics, are the subject of the area of research known as physics Beyond the Standard Model (BSM). BSM physics contains many Dark Matter (DM) theories which have emerged; from particles such as axions, neutrinos, and Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs), to primordial black holes and others. 12. Rare Weak Decays of the Omega Baryon
University essay from Uppsala universitet/KärnfysikAbstract : We study rare decays of the Omega baryon using SU(3) chiral perturbation theory, a successfuleffective field theory of quantum chromodynamics at low energies. At leading-order, we calculatethe branching fractions of the decay Ω− → Ξππ for all possible combinations of pions. READ MORE

13. CP Violation Studies in Cascade Decay Sequence
University essay from Uppsala universitet/KärnfysikAbstract : This thesis studies CP violation in the decay of the Ξ− hyperon, also known as the cascade baryon, which decays in the sequence Ξ− → Λπ− → pπ−π−. A difference between the angular distribution of this decay sequence and the angular distribution of the charge conjugate decay sequence ͞Ξ+ →͞Λπ+ → ͞pπ+π+, after taking into account the inversion of the momenta due to the parity operation, is indicative of CP violation. 14. Dead layer determination for the new implantation detector of the LUNDIUM decay station
University essay from Lunds universitet/Kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenAbstract : The Nuclear Structure Group in Lund, focuses on nuclear spectroscopy of decays of rare isotopes. A new decay station, called LUNDIUM, is currently being built, which will involve silicon and germanium detectors for the study of these nuclei. This thesis focuses on the characterization of one of the new silicon detectors, the implantation one. READ MORE

15. Assessment of the Capability for Vetoing Beta-Decay Events in the Lundium Decay Station
University essay from Lunds universitet/Kärnfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenAbstract : Alpha decay spectroscopy using the latest and most sensitive detector setup as well as fast sampling read-out electronics has become very important for discovery and analysis of short-lived nuclei created in collision experiments in the laboratory. The Nuclear Structure Group in Lund is currently developing the Lundium Decay Station for use in comprehensive nuclear spectroscopy of decays for rare isotopes, particularly in the heavy & superheavy region.
