  1. 16. Physics-Based Modelling for SEI and Lithium Plating During Calendar and Cycling Ageing

    University essay from KTH/Kemiteknik

    Author : Oskar Nordlander; [2022]
    Keywords : Lithium-ion Battery; Calendar Ageing; Cycling Ageing; Battery Degradation; Physics-Based Modelling; SEI; Lithium Plating; Litium-jonbatterier; Kalenderåldring; Cykling åldrande; Batteriåldrande; Fysikbaserad Modellering; SEI; Litium Plätering;

    Abstract : Målet med projektet var att undersöka samt implementera en fysikbaserad DFN modell för att simulera kalender samt cyklingåldrande av litiumbatterier som används i elbilar. Den fysikbaserade modellen var konstruerad baserad på ett Python biblioteket vid namn PyBaMM, vilket till skillnad från datadrivna modeller ger essentiell information om de kemiska processerna inuti batteriet. 2. 17. Effect of various rate promoters on the absorption rate of carbon dioxide in potassium carbonate solvents

    University essay from KTH/Kemiteknik

    Author : Aishwarya Babu; [2022]
    Keywords : Bioenergy carbon capture and storage; BECCS; carbon removal; post-combustion carbon capture; monoethanolamine; MEA; hot potash process; K2CO3; Koldioxidavskiljning och lagring; bioenergi; rökgasavskilljning; monoetanolamin; MEA; hot potash process; K2CO3;

    Abstract : Det ständigt växande behovet av att minska CO2-utsläpp har lett till en ökad tonvikt på teknik för avskiljning av koldioxid från rökgas. MEA (monoetanolamin) anses vara riktmärket för lösningsmedel för att fånga in koldioxid på grund av dess höga absorptionshastighet. READ MORE

  3. 18. Photocatalytic activity of titanium dioxide thin films deposited with high power impulse magnetron sputtering

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Fasta tillståndets elektronik

    Author : Victor Eriksson; [2021]
    Keywords : Photocatalysis; Titanium dioxide; Thin film; HiPIMS; Sputtering; Stearic acid;

    Abstract : High power impulse magnetron sputtering has shown a lot of promise as a way of depositing photocatalytic thin films of titanium dioxide at low temperatures, however, the films deposited are often amorphous and display uncertain photocatalytic abilities. This thesis explores the deposition and characterization of photocatalytic thin films deposited with high power impulse magnetron sputtering. READ MORE

  4. 19. Lifetime prediction of a polymeric propellant binder using the Arrhenius approach

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad materialvetenskap

    Author : Johannes Bohlin; [2021]
    Keywords : Polymer; Thermal-oxidative degradation; Lifetime prediction; Propellant; Arrhenius; Aging experiments; Diffusion-limited oxidation;

    Abstract : The thermal-oxidative degradation of a crosslinked hydroxy-terminated polybutadiene (HTPB)/cycloaliphatic diisocyanate (H12MDI) based polymer, which is commonly used as a polymeric binder in propellants, is investigated at temperatures from 95°C to 125°C with the aim of estimating the lifetime of the material in storage conditions (20°C) using the Arrhenius approach. Furthermore, the effect of antioxidants and to a lesser extent plasticizer on the degradation process was also studied. READ MORE

  5. 20. Anaerobic Co-digestion of steam pretreated wheat straw and sewage sludge

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (master); Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (CI)

    Author : Virginia Tosi; [2021]
    Keywords : Anaerobic co-digestion; wheat straw pretreatment; nutrients availability; OLR; VFA acumulation; Biotechnology; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Anaerobic digestion (AD) of wastes and residues is a widely applied and explored process. However, when the process is not optimized, inadequate concentrations of nutrients and inhibitory compounds are common and can lead to low maximum organic loading rates and increased risk of process problems, low organic dry solids degradation rate and reduced methane yields.
