26. Investigating potential proton conductors: Doping BaTiO3 and SrTiO3 with Fe and Al
University essay from Uppsala universitet/StrukturkemiAbstract : There are many interesting applications of proton conducting oxides, such as electrolytes in fuel cells, hydrogen sensors and catalytic membranes for hydrogenation or dehydrogenation of organic compounds. Previous work explored doping BaTiO3 with the Rare Earth Element (REE) Sc to introduce oxygen vacancies in the structure, making it a Proton Conductor (PC). READ MORE

27. A Fabry–Pérot Cavity for Rare-Earth-Ion-Doped Nanocrystals
University essay from Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenAbstract : This thesis work contributes to the effort of detecting single rare earth ions doped into crystals, an operation crucial for the development of rare earth quantum computer hardware. Doping crystals with rare earth elements, their trivalent ions substitute some of the crystal’s original bonds. READ MORE

28. Development and validation of a method for separation of pregabalin and gabapentin capsules using Near Infrared hyperspectral imaging
University essay from Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för fysik, kemi och biologiAbstract : Seizures containing large numbers of units of narcotics, goods dangerous to health and doping are often sent to the Swedish National Forensic Centre (NFC). Only a fraction of these capsules or tablets can be analyzed, therefore the samples need to represent the whole seizure. READ MORE

29. Probing ion movement in conjugated polymers
University essay from Uppsala universitet/StrukturkemiAbstract : Electronic conduction in conjugated polymers can be increased through electrochemical doping. This is utilised in light-emitting electrochemical cells and allows for a less demanding manufacturing process compared to the related organic light-emitting diode. READ MORE

30. Ab initio simulations of topological phase transitions in Dirac semimetal Cd3As2 doped with Zn and Mn impurities
University essay from Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för fysik och elektroteknik (IFE)Abstract : In this work we exploit the unique characteristics of a Dirac semimetal material to be symmetry-protected, to investigate dierent topological phase transitions provided by chemical dopings, focusing in particular on the electronic, magnetic and topological properties of the doped systems, studied by the mean of rst-principles methods based on density functional theory (DFT) approach. In particular these doped systems, besides being of interest for investigating the role of topology in solid state physics, could have a great potential for practical application since the dierent topological phases that come along with the chemical dopings allow one to exploit the unique properties of topological materials.
