  1. 1. Radiation protection measurements in clinical practice - Dosimetry with NaCl pellets

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Sjukhusfysikerutbildningen

    Author : Petter Wilke; [2019]
    Keywords : Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Within the field of medical radiation protection, radiation safety and personal dosimetry, there is a constant pursuit for improving existing methods and evaluating new approaches for measuring and quantifying the radiation doses that hospital staff may be exposed to in their clinical work. There are numerous ways of determining what doses the staff are being exposed to and the most commonly used is based on thermoluminescent dosemeters (TLD) with e. READ MORE

  2. 2. Establishing DANE TLSA Deployment Levels Among Swedish Second Level Domains

    University essay from Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för informationsteknologi

    Author : Rikard Sandelin; [2017]
    Keywords : DNS; DNSSEC; DANE; Deployment;

    Abstract : Domain Based Authentication of Named Entities (DANE) is an Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) standard released in 2012 intended to complement or in some cases replace the current Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) model. The current PKI model uses Transport Layer Security (TLS) certificates issued by Certificate Authorities (CA) binding domain names to public key. READ MORE

  3. 3. NaCl pellets for improved dosimetry

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Sjukhusfysikerutbildningen

    Author : Lovisa Waldner; [2017]
    Keywords : Medicine and Health Sciences;

    Abstract : There is always a need to improve and develop new ways of estimating effective doses to people and environments that have been exposed to ionizing radiation. Dose monitoring is also important in hospitals and the nuclear industry. READ MORE

  4. 4. The effect of concurrent radiation and calcium in two cancer cell lines

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Medicinsk strålningsfysik, Lund; Lunds universitet/Sjukhusfysikerutbildningen

    Author : Jessica Billberg; [2016]
    Keywords : Medicine and Health Sciences;

    Abstract : Introduction: Calcium is an important ubiquitous second messenger regarding the maintenance of cellular homeostasis, and is therefore tightly regulated. Calcium induces cell death when internalised into cancer cells after permeabilization of the cell membrane by electroporation. READ MORE

  5. 5. TLD Measurements on Patients being treated with a Taylor Spatial Frame : Using Radiation from Na18F PET/CT Studies and from Naturally Occurring Radioisotopes

    University essay from Stockholms universitet/Fysikum

    Author : Kousha Mirzadeh; [2014]
    Keywords : Taylor Spatial Frame; Thermoluminescent dosimeters; Tibia fracture; Bone remodeling; Na18F; PET CT; Bone seeking radionuclide;

    Abstract : Background: In an ongoing study conducted at Karolinska Institutet & Karolinska University Hospital, Positron Emission Tomography (PET)/Computed Tomography (CT) scans are performed on patients with tibia fractures and deformations treated with Taylor Spatial Frames (TSFs) in order to monitor their bone remodeling progress. Each patients receive an administration of approximately 2 MBq/kg bodyweight of Na18F associated with PET scans on two sessions, six and twelve weeks after the attachment of the TSF. READ MORE
