  1. 11. Enabling high-fidelity measurements of turbulent boundary layer flow over wing sections in the MTL wind tunnel.

    University essay from KTH/Mekanik

    Author : Fermin Mallor; [2019]
    Keywords : Fluid mechanics; aerodynamics; turbulence; RANS; wind-tunnel experiments; insert design; Strömningsmekanik; aerodynamik; turbulens; RANS; vindtunnel experiment; inlaga designen;

    Abstract : A reinforced fiber-glass model of a NACA 4412 wing profile is designed and set-up in the Minimum Turbulence Level (MTL) wind tunnel facility at KTH. The model has 65 pressure taps orifices, and the set-up includes two mounting panels designed to allow for particle image velocimetry (PIV) and hot wire anemometry (HWA) measurements of the boundary layer (to be performed in a future campaign). 2. 12. Loosely coupled, modular framework for linear static aeroelastic analyses

    University essay from KTH/Lättkonstruktioner

    Author : Aaron Dettmann; [2019]
    Keywords : Aeroelasticity; Simulation; CFD; FEM; VLM; Euler-Bernoulli beam theory III; Aeroelasticitet; Simulation; CFD; FEM; VLM; Euler-Bernoulli-balkmodell;

    Abstract : A computational framework for linear static aeroelastic analyses is presented. The overall aeroelasticity model is applicable to conceptual aircraft design studies and other low-fidelity aero-structural analyses. A partitioned approach is used, i. e. READ MORE

  3. 13. Calculation of Fuel-Optimal Aircraft Flight Profile

    University essay from KTH/Flygdynamik

    Author : Tong Wang; [2019]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Sedan världens första konventionella flygplan lyfte 1914 har flygindustrin förbättrats konstant under de 104 åren sedan dess. År 2017 transporterades över 4.1 miljarder passagerare med ungefär 36.8 miljoner flights av världens alla flygbolag. READ MORE

  4. 14. IMPROVING THE REPRESENTATION OF 1D PERFORMANCE COMPRESSOR MODEL

    University essay from KTH/Energiteknik

    Author : Alexandre Lions; [2018]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The thesis project was carried out at SAFRAN AIRCRAFT ENGINES in France with goal to check the feasibility of implementing 1D validated aerodynamic models into the engine performance models. It is a part of a wider project of improving the representation of transient and steady effects that are missing in 0D representations. READ MORE

  5. 15. Fluid motion analysis in the cryogenic tanks of the upperstage of Ariane 5 during the ascent phase

    University essay from KTH/Aerodynamik

    Author : Christophe Montsarrat; [2017]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : In the frame of the improvement of the performances for Ariane 5, an analysis iscarried out to explain the pressure drop observed in the ascent phase of some flights inthe liquid hydrogen (LH2) tank of the upper stage. This stage is mainly idle until therocket is out of the atmosphere but is submitted to important excitation throughoutthe ascent phase in the atmosphere. READ MORE
