  1. 21. Gransågspån som odlingssubstrat för tall-, gran- och björkplantor

    University essay from SLU/School for Forest Management

    Author : Rickard Bodell; Emanuel Vestlund; [2023]
    Keywords : substrat; sågspån; torv; plantor;

    Abstract : Torv är idag i många sammanhang klassad som ett fossilt bränsle och utdikade torvmarker släpper ut koldioxid. Även lämpligheten med att i samma utsträckning som idag fortsätta använda torv i odlingssammanhang ifrågasätts. READ MORE

  2. 22. Additively Manufactured Rare Earth Free Permanent Magnets

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad materialvetenskap; Uppsala universitet/Oorganisk kemi

    Author : Himesha Abenayake; [2023]
    Keywords : additive manufacturing; MnAl; MnAl C ; rare earth free permanent magnets; selective laser melting; SLM; MnAl-based permanent magnets;

    Abstract : It’s well known that MnAl(C) material consists of a metastable phase (τ) with promising ferromagnetic properties, produced either by controlled cooling from the high-temperature hexagonal ε-phase or rapid cooling that freezes the ε-phase followed by low-temperature annealing. Due to the high cooling rates involved, additive manufacturing (AM) especially selective laser melting (SLM), has been identified as a possible method to retain the high-temperature ε-phase, hence containing a potential capacity to produce permanent magnets upon low-temperature annealing. 3. 23. Research on the Hydrothermal Conversion of Xylose Catalysed by CO2-H2O into Furfural

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Author : Robert Liao; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Agricultural waste treatment and carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuel combustion have been critical challenges for sustainable development. This work is part of a study on converting straw into biofuels, which involves using xylose as the material, carbon dioxide (CO2) as the catalyst, and water (H2O) and Gamma-Valerolactone (GVL) as the solvent to produce furfural through hydrothermal conversion. 4. 24. Apparent density for water atomized low-carbon steel powder

    University essay from KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Author : Simon Lindström; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Carbon content does not affect the apparent density for water atomized iron powder monotonically. At low carbon content, around 0.1 wt %, apparent density is higher than a similar powder with 0.3 wt % carbon. READ MORE

  5. 25. EU Versus Sweden – the Battle of Sustainability in Our Forests

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Author : Ewelina Kaniecka; [2023]
    Keywords : Content Analysis; Earth Sciences; EU Forest Strategy; Forest Policy; Sustainable Development; Swedish Forestry Act;

    Abstract : In 2021, the European Union (EU) released the New EU Forest Strategy for 2030 to improve the welfare of forests within the EU. This caused a conflict between the EU and some of its Member States. READ MORE
