  1. 21. Extension of low voltage distribution by pure DC or mixed AC/DC parts for integration of solar PV and EV charging

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Sofie Jiang; [2022]
    Keywords : LVDC; LVAC; solar PV system; electric vehicle charging station; IKN-regulation; distribution system; RES integration; LVDC; LVAC; solceller; elfordon; laddstolpar; IKN-regelverk; distributionsnät; förnyelsebara energikällor;

    Abstract : This work examines the local distribution system in two residential areas in two Swedish towns, Oxelösund and Karlskrona, and studies how integration of PV systems and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations (CS) will affect the present distribution system. The research questions focus on the economic feasibility of a LVDC system, how it compares to a traditional LVAC (low voltage alternating current) system from an economic and technical perspective, and the possibilities a LVDC system brings to other DC component applications. 2. 22. Antenna as a sensor for sensing available LTE networks

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Barath Kumar Sathish Kumar; [2022]
    Keywords : Radio Frequency energy harvesting; Antenna as a sensor; Long-Term Evolution; Rectifier; Printed Circuit Board; Altium Designer; Matching network; Voltage multiplier; Schottky diodes; Multiband LTE antenna; Ambient energy harvesting; Low power Internet of Things; Wireless power transfer; Radiofrekvensenergiskörd; Antenn som sensor; LTE; Likriktare; Printed Circuit Board; Altium Designer; Matchande nätverk; Spänningsmultiplikator; Schottky-dioder; Multiband LTE-antenn; Omgivande energiskörd; Lågeffekt Internet of Things; Trådlös kraftöverföring;

    Abstract : This thesis primarily deals with the concept of designing an antenna based device to harvest energy from Radio Frequency (RF) and using the harvested energy to sense the available Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in order for the Internet of Things (IoT) devices to connect to the network for the purpose of transmitting and receiving data. Secondarily the importance of this project is targeting how to conserve battery power in an IoT device and extend it’s lifetime. READ MORE

  3. 23. Design, production, and validation of a vacuum arc thruster for in-orbit proximity operations

    University essay from Luleå tekniska universitet/Rymdteknik

    Author : Cornelis Peter Hiemstra; [2022]
    Keywords : vacuum arc thruster; propulsion; thrust measurement;

    Abstract : Vacuum arc thrusters offer a relatively simple and cheap form of satellite propulsion, especially suitable for nanosatellites such as CubeSats or even smaller. This thesis focuses on vacuum arc thruster design considering the thruster’s manufacturing, assembly and integration into the spacecraft, and proposes a new anode geometry easing thruster production. 4. 24. Development of Typical Load Profiles on residential electricity consumption using attribute data on electric vehicles, heating systems and fuse sizes

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Industriell teknik

    Author : Aikaterini Manousidou; Martina Lundberg; [2022]
    Keywords : Typical Load Profiles; electric vehicles; load curves; smart grid; electrification; Velander formula;

    Abstract : It is time to phase out fossil fuels and invest our efforts in green energy production through a major restructuring of the energy system. At the same time, more people are acquiring electric vehicles (EVs), thus creating a higher demand of electricity, and solar panels, allowing the consumer to also be a micro-producer. READ MORE

  5. 25. Swedish wheat in the changing climate : screening for stable spring wheat genotypes from 2017 and 2018 with focus on protein quality for bread-making

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Plant Breeding (from 130101)

    Author : Axel Belsing; [2021]
    Keywords : wheat; gluten protein; bread-making quality; stability; climate variation; breeding; SE-HPLC; micro-structure;

    Abstract : In recent years, wheat production and protein quality in wheat have been affected by climatic changes in Sweden and in many other parts of the world. Protein quality of wheat, determining the bread-making quality of flour, is a parameter sensitive to climate fluctuations and its stability has not been studied so far. READ MORE
