  1. 1. Exploring the Depth-Performance Trade-Off : Applying Torch Pruning to YOLOv8 Models for Semantic Segmentation Tasks

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Xinchen Wang; [2024]
    Keywords : Deep Learning; Semantic segmentation; Network optimization; Network pruning; Torch Pruning; YOLOv8; Network Depth; Djup lärning; Semantisk segmentering; Nätverksoptimering; Nätverksbeskärning; Fackelbeskärning; YOLOv8; Nätverksdjup;

    Abstract : In order to comprehend the environments from different aspects, a large variety of computer vision methods are developed to detect objects, classify objects or even segment them semantically. Semantic segmentation is growing in significance due to its broad applications in fields such as robotics, environmental understanding for virtual or augmented reality, and autonomous driving. 2. 2. Multiple-Emitter Super-resolution Imaging using the Alternating Descent Conditional Gradient Method

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; Lunds universitet/Institutionen för astronomi och teoretisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation

    Author : Dolev Illouz; [2023]
    Keywords : super-resolution; alternating descent conditional gradient method; ADCG; multiple-emitter localization; nanoscale imaging; single molecule tracking; Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : This thesis examines the state-of-the-art 2D super-resolution technique alternating descent conditional gradient (ADCG) method's ability to accurately localize fluorophores in diffraction-limited single molecule images (SMI) and analyze the impact of pre-processing and post-processing modules on ADCG's fluorophore localization. A synthetic dataset obtained from the 2013 Grand Challenge localization microscopy and a temporally linked dataset obtained from an unpublished set of Optical DNA mapping experiments performed by Jonathan Jeffet at the NanoBioPhotonix Lab at Tel-Aviv University were initially segmented to extract their noise parameters. Author : Christian Jaunviksna; [2023]
    Keywords : Metal cutting Machinability Grey cast iron Tool wear Cutting data Hardness Microstructure Segmentation; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Grey cast iron is one of the most used materials in the automotive industry. The material has a range of properties that makes it suitable for machining applications, but manufacturers still experience machinability problems. READ MORE

  4. 4. Ion Induced Particle Desorption From Self Supporting Nanomembranes : Influence of Different Geometries and Particle Types

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad kärnfysik

    Author : Jonas Beling; [2023]
    Keywords : ion; physics; ion physic; scattering; desorption; sputtering; jon; fysik; jonfysik;

    Abstract : Nanoelectronics is a field undergoing rapid development, meaning knowledge of the materials and methods used in nano-scale systems is a driving force in the industry. Silicon is a well known material in nanoelectronics commonly used as a semiconductor and is therefore a good representative for nanomaterials in general. READ MORE

  5. 5. Overcoming Academic Procrastination : Exploring the Purpose of Space and Social Connections through Tangible Interaction to Impact Students’ Motivation and Embrace the Focus on Their Individual Projects

    University essay from Malmö högskola/Institutionen för konst, kultur och kommunikation (K3)

    Author : Simone Brandão; [2023]
    Keywords : Human-Computer Interaction; Social connections; Mood; Space; Interaction Design; Procrastination; Motivation; Academic; Environments;

    Abstract : This thesis project investigates the procrastination problem in university students and the effects of this issue in individual work such as essays and learning activities related to academic context. As part of students’ routines, the use of digital devices is crucial for easy access to online resources, but, at the same time, this technological development has become a high distraction source while trying to accomplish academic goals.
