  1. 1. Experimental Investigation of High Prandtl Number Flow in Additive Manufactured Channels

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Author : LINDA YANG; [2023]
    Keywords : Additive manufacturing; Heat transfer; Darcy friction factor; Nusselt number; Minichannel.; Friformsframställning; Värmeöverföring; Darcy friction factor; Nusselt number; Minikanal.;

    Abstract : Additive manufacturing (AM) rapidly evolves and expands into new industries dueto its great design freedom and time savings. Injection molding is an excellentindustry where AM can help reduce cooling time by printing complex coolingchannels for more effective and uniform cooling. READ MORE

  2. 2. Designing Effective Derivative Line Filters: Utilizing convolution to extract extra information

    University essay from KTH/Matematik (Avd.)

    Author : Gustaf Lorentzon; [2023]
    Keywords : Computational Fluid Dynamics; Convolution Filters; Convolution Kernels; Derivatives; Extracting Extra Accuracy; Filtration; Post-processing; Smoothness-Increasing Accuracy-Conserving; Signal-processing; Visualization; Vorticity; Beräkningsbaserad Strömningsdynamik; Faltningsfilter; Faltningskärnor; Derivator; Extrahering av Extra Noggrannhet; Filtrering; Efterbehandling; Kontinuitetsökande; Noggrannhetsbevarande; Signalbehandling; Visualisering; Vorticitet;

    Abstract : The ability to generate accurate approximations of derivatives holds significant importance in numerous scientific fields, including chemistry, economics and fluid mechanics. This thesis is centred around extracting hidden information in data using Smoothness-Increasing Accuracy-Conserving (SIAC) filters. READ MORE

  3. 3. Evaluation of a stochastic model of coherent turbulent structures for atmospheric particle deposition applications

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapslära

    Author : Andreas Eriksson; [2022]
    Keywords : atmospheric dispersion; particle deposition; k-epsilon; RANS; lagrangian particle model; stochastic particle model; OpenFOAM; SIMPLE algorithm; ABL; atmospheric boundary layer; neutral boundary layer; coherent turbulent structures;

    Abstract : In this thesis, we have evaluated a stochastic Lagrangian model for computing particle deposition rates with prospects to use for atmospheric deposition applications.  The model is one-dimensional and models the particle dynamics in the boundary layers near walls and obstacles by simulating the coherent turbulent structures and Brownian motion governing the wall-normal transport. 4. 4. Sediment Transport and Erosion in Viskan River, South Sweden

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära

    Author : Siyuan Wang; [2022]
    Keywords : HEC-RAS; cross section; erosion; sediment transport; deposition; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : This master thesis study presents the results of sediment transport analysis along Viskan, located in south Sweden. The main processes cover building a hydrodynamic model, studying parameters that define sediment transport, modelling sediment transport within the river, mapping out erosive stretches and comparing to observed eroded locations, and finally comparison of different transport functions how they influence the results. 5. 5. Development of a Nordic BWR plant model in APROS and design of a power controller using the control rods

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Jonathan Al-Ani; [2021]
    Keywords : APROS; Dynamic process simulation; System code; Nuclear reactor; nuclear power; BWR; Boiling Water Reactor; closed cycle; steam cycle; one-dimensional flow; Westinghouse; control rods; APROS; Dynamisk processimulering; Beräkningsmodell; Kärnkraft; BWR; Kokvattenreaktor; ångcykel; en-dimensionell flödesmodell; Westinghouse; kontrollstavar;

    Abstract : In this master thesis an input-model of a Nordic BWR power plant has been developed in APROS. The plant model contains key systems and major thermohydraulic components of the steam cycle, including I&C systems (i.e. power, pressure, level and flow controls). READ MORE
