  1. 16. Polymerization of isatin towards polymers for anion exchange membranes and gas separation applications

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Kemiska institutionen

    Author : Simone Facchini; [2022]
    Keywords : organic chemistry; membranes; isatin; polymers; Chemistry;

    Abstract : In a world where the problem of energy resources, pollution and all aspects related to these issues becomes more and more dominant, a greater commitment is needed in the search for solutions. The goal of this project is to make a contribution to the research and development of new materials to reduce the environmental impact in some fields. READ MORE

  2. 17. Development of covalent organic frameworks for energy storage applications : DAAQ-TFP COF and MXene composite electrodes for proton cycling

    University essay from Uppsala universitet/Nanoteknologi och funktionella material

    Author : Simanjit Singh; [2022]
    Keywords : covalent organic framework; DAAQ-TFP; MXene; composite electrodes; 1 3 5-Triformylphloroglucinol; 2 6-Diaminoanthraquinone; nanosheets; exfoliation; ex-situ; Ti3C2Tx;

    Abstract : The demand for today's material resources for energy storage is rapidly increasing and can result in both environmental and political conflicts that can affect the development of electronic devices due to high prices and limitations of raw materials for batteries. In this study, potential future composite electrodes were synthesised with an ex-situ approach by compositing redox-active 2,6-Diaminoanthraquinone and 1,3,5-Triformylphloroglucinol covalent organic framework (DAAQ-TFP COF) with conductive delaminated Ti3C2Tx MXene to maximise the number of redox-active moieties during cycling. 3. 18. Suzuki reactions in novel liquids

    University essay from Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för kemi och biomedicin (KOB)

    Author : Nazanin Hassanzadeh; [2021]
    Keywords : Suzuki coupling reaction; ni-DES; HPLC; TLC;

    Abstract : Non-ionic deep eutectic solvent (ni-DES) possesses various advantages such as good solvation, biodegradability, and non-toxicity which makes it a perfect and environmentally friendly solvent for organic synthesis. A Pd (OAc)2 catalyzed, Suzuki reaction of aryl bromide and N-heteroaryl halide with arylboronic acid in green and novel solvent (ni-DES) is described. READ MORE

  4. 19. Stereoselective synthesis of unnatural α-amino acids through photoredox catalyzed C–H activation

    University essay from KTH/Kemi

    Author : Ludwig Wåhlin; [2021]
    Keywords : photoredox catalysis; C–H functionalization; hydrogen atom transfer; unnatural amino acids; radicals; fotoredoxkatalys; C–H-funktionalisering; väteatomsöverföring; icke-naturliga aminosyror; radikaler;

    Abstract : Fotoredoxkatalys har nyligen genomgått en renässans inom organisk kemi då metoden har möjliggjort framtagandet utav nya reaktionsvägar med milda reaktionsbetingelser genom att använda sig av synligt ljus. I det här arbetet undersöktes metodens bredd genom att kombinera metoden med väteatomöverföringskatalys för att funktionalisera C–H bindningar i α-position till heteroatomer och på så sätt skapa icke-naturliga α-aminosyror.
