  1. 11. Diffuse correlation spectroscopy for estimation of coagulation thickness : a phantom study

    University essay from Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för medicinsk teknik

    Author : Zeyneb Alsadi; [2019]
    Keywords : DCS; Diffuse correlation spectroscopy; Biomedical optics; coagulation; phantom study; coagulation depth; coagulation thickness; diffusion; model; two layer model;

    Abstract : The objective of this preliminary study was to determine the potential of diffuse correlation spectroscopy (DCS) for assessment of coagulation depth. Coagulation of tissue can occur due to a number of different reasons such as thermal or electrical burns or radiofrequency ablation. READ MORE

  2. 12. Characterization of breast tomosynthesis systems: A comparison and optimization

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Sjukhusfysikerutbildningen

    Author : Thanh Tra Pham; [2019]
    Keywords : Physics and Astronomy;

    Abstract : Aim: The aim of the study is to characterize the dependency of image quality on absorbed dose for two breast tomosynthesis (BT) systems, GE Senographe Pristina and Siemens Mammomat Inspiration and compare the systems. The image quality was evaluated by different parameters such as: in-plane and in-depth spatial resolution, artifact spread function (ASF) and signal-difference-to-noise ratio (SDNR). READ MORE

  3. 13. Metoder för höjdkorrigering av punktmoln generade från drönarbilder

    University essay from SLU/Dept. of Forest Resource Management

    Author : Joakim Isaksson; Lars Johansson; [2019]
    Keywords : fjärranalys; UAV; skog; ICP;

    Abstract : Syftet med studien är att jämföra tre olika metoder för höjdkorrigering av punktmoln skapade från bilder tagna med drönaren DJI Phantom 4 Pro. Detta är intressant då drönare anses vara ett av framtidens instrument för småskalig och snabb fjärranalys. READ MORE

  4. 14. Modelling and Simulations of a clinical PET-system using the GATE Monte Carlo software

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Sjukhusfysikerutbildningen

    Author : Philip Kalaitzidis; [2018]
    Keywords : Medicine and Health Sciences;

    Abstract : Introduction: The increased importance of PET imaging in the health care system has lead to a constant need for improvement and optimisation of scanner systems and their protocols. By utilising the features of the GATE Monte Carlo program one can gain a better understanding of the limitations and possibilities of the system. READ MORE

  5. 15. Assessment of image quality in x-ray fluoroscopy based on Model observers as an objective measure for quality control and image optimization

    University essay from Stockholms universitet/Fysikum

    Author : Henrik Elgström; [2018]
    Keywords : image quality; fluoroscopy; Model observer;

    Abstract : BACKGROUND: Although the Image Quality (IQ) indices calculated by objective Model observers contains more favourable characteristics compared to Figure Of Merits (FOM) derived from the more common subjective evaluations of modern digital diagnostic fluoroscopy units, like CDRAD or the Leeds test-objects, practical issues in form of limited access to unprocessed raw data and intricate laboratory measurements have made the conventional computational methods too inefficient and laborious. One approach of the Statistical Decision Variables (CDV) analysis, made available in the FluoroQuality software, overcome these limitations by calculating the SNR2rate from information entirely based on image frames directly obtained from the imaging system, operating in its usual clinical mode.
