  1. 16. MANGO - Generating 2D-Magnetic Field Maps From Normal-Conducting Magnets Of Experimental Areas

    University essay from KTH/Fysik

    Author : Ambre Visive; [2023]
    Keywords : Applied Physics; Particle Physics; MANGO; Magnetic Field Maps; Normal-Conducting Magnets; Finite-Element Modelling; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Beam Lines; Experimental Areas; CERN; Tillämpad Fysik; Partikelfysik; MANGO; Magnetfältskartor; Normalkonduktiva Elektromagneter; Finit Elementmodellering; Opera-2D; Git Repository; Python Package; Partikelstrållinje; Experimentområden; CERN;

    Abstract : This thesis discusses the development of MANGO, a tool created to model normal-conducting magnets which were installed in the 1970s in the experimental areas at CERN, and store their analysis. MANGO formulates an answer to two problems faced by the physicists of the Beam Department when they model a beam line: first, how to produce new magnetic field maps and, second, how to easily access existing ones? It contains a multi-use package that offers an automated process to produce magnetic field maps from finite-element models of magnets. READ MORE

  2. 17. Towards a Geographic Information Systems and Data-Driven Integration Management.

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Author : Takura Matswetu; [2023]
    Keywords : Migrant Integration; Geography; Physical Geography; GIS; Network Analysis; Tampere; Accessibility; Data-driven decision making; Holistic Integration Index; Mathematics and Statistics; Social Sciences; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Abstract : Integration management in Finland and Tampere is broad task including multiple actors and departments. To manage integration, is to coordinate the cross organizational cooperation of multiple service structures that support migrants with different kinds of services. READ MORE

  3. 18. Battery storage implementation in Sweden and sizing software development

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Author : Santiago Moreano Rojas; [2023]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Due to the rampant growth of the penetration of renewables into the electrical grids across the world, more challenges appear in the way to assure the optimal operation of the energy system. More particularly, in the case of Sweden, the nuclear power decommissioning tendency and the 100% renewable energy target by 2040, set two strong additional motivations for the rise of issues regarding variability, uncertainty, stability, balancing and quality in the grid. 4. 19. Surface functionalization of cellulose fibers and exploration of its influence in ion exchange chromatography

    University essay from KTH/Fiber- och polymerteknologi

    Author : Anna Wessén; [2023]
    Keywords : Ion-exchange chromatography; membrane chromatography; surface extension; grafting; copolymerization; free-radical polymerization; Jonbyteskromatografi; membrankromatografi; ytförlängning; ympning; sampolymerisation; fri radikal polymerisation;

    Abstract : Kromatografiska metoder kan användas för en mängd olika tillämpningar, inklusive separation, rening och analys av biomolekyler och kemikalier. Membrankromatografi är en av de nya kromatografiteknikerna som expanderar snabbt eftersom den tillåter hög masstransport genom den stationära fasen, vilket resulterar i en mer tidseffektiv process. 5. 20. Mapping of Dependent Structural Responses on a Prestressed Concrete Bridge using Machine Learning Regression Analysis and Historical Data : A Comparison of Different Non-linear Regression Approaches

    University essay from Umeå universitet/Institutionen för datavetenskap

    Author : Vedad Coric; [2023]
    Keywords : Prestressed Concrete Bridges; Structural health Monitoring; Machine Learning; Regression analysis; Infrastructure management;

    Abstract : Prestressed concrete bridges are susceptible to deterioration over time which might significantly affect their capacity and overall performance. In previous decades, infrastructure owners have found that continuous monitoring of these assets is a valuable tool for their management as it facilitates the decision-making process regarding the intervention strategies required.
