  1. 6. Clustering of Financial Account Time Series Using Self Organizing Maps

    University essay from KTH/Matematisk statistik

    Author : Magnus Nordlinder; [2021]
    Keywords : Kohonen; financial accounts; self organizing maps; clustring; time series; Kohonen; finansiella konton; klustring; tidsserier;

    Abstract : This thesis aims to cluster financial account time series by extracting global features from the time series and by using two different dimensionality reduction methods, Kohonen Self Organizing Maps and principal component analysis, to cluster the set of the time series by using K-means. The results are then used to further cluster a set of financial services provided by a financial institution, to determine if it is possible to find a set of services which coincide with the time series clusters. 2. 7. Influence of different colormaps on the perceptual interpretation of numerical values produced by a self-organizing feature map

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Gabriel Ulander Voltaire; [2021]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : To visualize important information and generating a well suited colormap to represent the features of interest in a dataset is complicated. Some colormaps provide with less accurate insights of the data. Meanwhile other colormaps can provide effectively a stronger understanding and identifcation of features in the data. READ MORE

  3. 8. Exploring the Potential for Machine Learning Techniques to Aid in Categorizing Electron Trajectories during Magnetic Reconnection

    University essay from KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Author : Måns Nyman; Caner Naim Ulug; [2020]
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Magnetic reconnection determines the space weather which has a direct impact on our contemporary technological systems. As such, the phenomenon has serious ramifications on humans. Magnetic reconnection is a topic which has been studied for a long time, yet still many aspects surrounding the phenomenon remain unexplored. READ MORE

  4. 9. Self-organizing Maps for Digital Pre-distortion

    University essay from Lunds universitet/Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik

    Author : Michail Isaakidis; [2020]
    Keywords : Self-organizing maps; Digital pre-distortion; Technology and Engineering;

    Abstract : Power amplifiers are very important components in the area of wireless communications. However, they are non-linear devices and they seem to achieve high efficiency when they are operating in the non-linear regions, at the cost of being more power-consuming. In order to linearize their behavior, designers have been considering many methods. READ MORE
